TTT - Re-Reading Books

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish but starting this week, they are handing over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week we are looking at books I loved but will never re-read.  I don't tend to re-read a lot so my simple answer would be MOST OF THEM!!!  However, that doesn't make for a very fun list so instead I'm sharing with you BOOKS I'LL HAVE TO RE-READ IF I EVER WANT TO CONTINUE THE SERIES.  Wow, that's a mouthful huh?

I had kind of given up on this series, not because I hated it but because I have so many other things I want to read, but then I keep seeing Chuckles reviewing them and she is renewing my interest.  It's been AGES though since I read this - 2006!

I will reread this one because I absolutely loved it but there was such a big space between when it came out and book 2 that I need to start all over to fully enjoy it.  However book 3 comes out in 2018 so maybe I'll wait until then and just read them all at once.

There are 6 books and 2 novellas in this series so far and don't they just scream BARB READ ME!!!!
Yep, and I own most of them so I need to slate this one in again so I can recall what happened.

I really liked this book which was a historical fiction with witches but I don't remember "jack" about it.  This series wrapped up with a conclusion novella on Smashmouth so I don't know that I'll ever re-read or finish this one.

I read this some time ago and also really liked it.  It was kind of my intro into YA before I knew YA was a thing.  I always meant to finish the series but now I forget so much.  But hey, I can totally see Booker T's Farm reviewing The Farm.  I'm sure Booker would have lots to comment about it.

So there you have my spin on this week's topic.  Really, there are so many books out there I rarely ever plan re-reads.  Can't wait to see every one else's lists!

  1. That's a good way to do this one! I've seen the Kitty books around... and ooh Menagerie. I'm about to start that one. A Breath of Frost looks pretty awesome and I remember looking at that one in a bookstore- would still like to kinda read it.

    1. I hope you love Menagerie as much as I did!

  2. Good choice of topic! I really need to get that Kitty series completed but at the moment I just don't want to read anything at all, which hampers all plans!

  3. Haaa, this list topic is totally me too! I might need to save it for a later TTT when I am stuck! Also Paw Enforcement, oh my goodness, the cuteness!!!

    1. I'd love to see the books on your list if you ever do this topic.

  4. I have been trying to stay away from book series until the series is finished because I don't want to have to keep re-reading the first book or whatever to remember what happened. I am not much of a re-reader either but I do have a select few that I try to read every other year or so.

    1. I'm the same way. You reminded me with your review last week that I really want to re-read Enzo. I've heard that they are making the movie again but I heard that years ago too.

  5. I love this spin on the topic! I never reread either. I mean there is only so much time, right? There are a couple of books I read long ago that I am curious about, but then I also don't want my feelings for them to change because of a reread.

  6. I remember picking up a few books in the Kitty Norville series a while ago, but, like you, I think I had other books I wanted to read and ended up leaving the series behind. Thanks for reminding me this series exists :)

  7. Nice twist! I hardly ever re-read either. I should probably do this at some point too!

  8. Nice list. It's a good reason to reread something. I find that there are few I reread too. Sometimes it's because I'm almost like homesick for the characters or the story line.

    1. I know. That's how I am with The Shining. Although it may say something about me if I miss those characters and setting.

  9. I think I added Menagerie to my TBR because I saw it here on your blog and you were so excited about it! I hope you do continue with this series!

    1. I will definitely be re-reading that one and continuing on.

  10. I added Menagerie to my TBR a couple of weeks ago after you recommended it, and I had no idea it was part of a series so it looks like I better add the next couple of books to my TBR, too!

    1. You're lucky. At least the second one is out so if you like it, you can move on. I read it when it first came out and I think it was over 2 years for the second one...and it seemed even longer than that!

  11. I read Breath of Frost and the second one in the trilogy but not the third one :(. It got canceled and then she had to self publish it and I just never got around to it.

    1. Now I'm glad I stopped. Things like that tick me off!

  12. I think The Farm was on my TBR at one point, but I really can't recall anything about it. I hear you. The majority of the books we've read will never be reread.

    1. I think The Farm is either vampires or zombies. Nope, definitely vampires.

  13. I like what you did with the topic this week. I have quite a few series that I feel like I need to start back at the beginning in order to finish. I did love Menagerie from your list!

    1. I'm glad. It doesn't seem to get much attention in the book world.

  14. I didn't realize that Alyxandra Harvey was able to finish the series! It was in limbo for AGES so I'm glad she was able to find a way to wrap it up. (Although I also remember jack about the series haha)

    1. I think you can find it on wattpad or smashmouth or one of those type forums.

  15. I love your version of today's topic. I'm such a terrible series reader.

  16. Oh yes, there are so many books I would need to reread if I ever plan to continue the series, because I just don't remember what happened anymore...but then, I also have to ask myself, if the first book didn't make that much of an impression and I still haven't read the sequel, is it really worth it? Oh pesky brain, stop confounding me!

  17. I have several series that haven't been concluded by the author. Been waiting forever for some. If they ever do write conclusions, I'll have to start back at the beginning. But, since I'm still wanting to finish them, it will be fun to revisit

    1. I don't mind revisiting some. Hope some of yours get finished soon!

  18. This is exactly why I tend avoid series! I don't like needing to hang onto a story while I'm waiting for the next installment.

    1. But it seems like so many things are trilogies or series now. It's hard to stay away from them.

  19. Nice take on this week's topic! I have some books I need to re-read to continue with the series. A majority are the first books of a series, which is always hard to remember when there is a big gap between book releases.

  20. Ahhh Kitty and the Midnight Hour. Yes, I'd have to re-read that one as well. I always meant to carry on with those but kind of forgot. lol

  22. I like your spin on the topic. I'm like you and rarely reread books with a very few exceptions (Harry Potter). But if I ever want to finish reading the Game of Thrones series, I'm going to have to start back at the beginning, there's just way too much involved for my brain to hold it all and keep it straight.

Have a wonderful week. - Katie

    1. Oh yea, that one would be hard enough to remember from beginning to end. Those names and locations are somewhat confusing to me. At least I've seen the show so I know how to pronounce some of them,

  23. I like your idea on where to take the topic. If I was to do this kind of lists I would have so many books to choose from haha

  27. I am not much of a re-reader either. But you raise a good point. There are a number of series I started long ago and if I do plan to continue with them, I just might have to go back and re-read so I remember where I left off. Kitty and the Midnight Hour might be one of them! I'm not even sure where I left off . . .
