This week we are looking at authors we'd like to meet.
Stephen King - I bet he makes quite a few lists this week. I also bet he'd want to talk about anything besides his books because he probably gets asked about them all the time.
Joe Hill - Might as well make this a family affair.
Anne Rice - Maybe. I'm kind of not sure on this one.
Jackie Bouchard - Jackie and I have talked quite a bit via email, instagram and blog posts and she is one of my favorite authors - her dog books are great. I'd love to meet her and Rita in person.
Seanan McGuire - I love everything I read by her and look at this picture - you could tell she would be a blast.
Charlaine Harris - I would desperately try to convince her to write more books in her Midnight Texas trilogy.
Edgar Allan Poe - Doesn't everybody have a dead guy on their list?
Lucy Dillon - Another writer who has published some awesome books with some of my favorite dog characters. If you aren't reading her, you should be. I also think she seems like she'd be so fun to hang out with and chill.
So there you have it, not quite 10 but at least a decent amount. Who would you want to meet?
I've never been that interested in meeting authors to be honest! I just like reading the books! Mind you if I ever met JK Rowling I'd be on her case for a trilogy about original Wizard War between Voldemort and the Order of the Phoenix!
ReplyDeleteYou know what, I'm not that interested either. I enjoy their books and it doesn't really have to get personal right?
DeleteOh my gosh yes, Charlaine Harris! I have so many questions about her early work I would love to know more about!
ReplyDeleteShe would be fun. Have you read the Midnight Texas books? I think that trilogy is her best.
DeleteI'd definitely want to meet Stephen King. But I'd want to meet him 35 years ago when he wasn't quite as famous yet!
ReplyDeleteGood point.
DeleteI had a chance to meet Stephen King at an author event but I didn't go because he wasn't signing all of his books for the audience which I thought was lame and selfish. He was only signing a few books and if you were lucky, you would get one on your way out of the event. But it would have been interesting to hear him talk. I just didn't want to drive 4 hours to not get a signed book.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't seem quite fair. I'm not a big fan of crowds so honestly, it would be hard for me to muster excitement to see anyone as popular as he is.
DeleteSome good ones on here!! I didn't put a dead one but if I did it would probably be Jane Austen or Bram Stoker!
ReplyDeleteOh yea, Stoker would be fun.
DeleteI'd have to say a big NO to Anne Rice because she's said such awful things to reviewers but everyone else looks okay :)
ReplyDeleteOk, so I've heard some of that before but I don't know the details. Since that is the case, I'm removing her from my list!
DeleteGreat list. I'd love to meet Stephen King. And my 'dead guy'? Bram Stoker. :)
ReplyDeleteGood choice!
DeleteI've been to a Stephen King event, does that count? haha Joe Hill would be fun too. And Mira/Seanan would absolutely be a ton of fun.
ReplyDeleteCounts for me!
DeleteI think everyone should have at least one dead author on their lists! We share a couple of the same authors this time round. I should have had Stephen King too.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
He made so many lists today that you can just add him as an afterthought :)
DeleteOh my gosh, yes, Edgar Allan Poe is perfect or this list. I'd love to meet him!
ReplyDeleteBet he's creepy...and I bet his meeting would involve drugs or booze!
DeleteNice list. I knew we liked some of the same authors.
ReplyDeleteYep, doesn't surprise me at all!
DeleteI did go to a Charlaine Harris book event. It was when she was still writing the Sookie series and it was so crowded you could buy a signed book but they were not signing any there or doing photos. I don't really feel like a met her but I was in the same space if that counts.
ReplyDeleteI think it counts.
DeleteI think I would be hella nervous meeting some of these big names! King, Rice, Harris...

That's true. I'm sure I'd embarrass myself.
DeleteThat Seanan Maguire pic cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome right?
DeleteGood list! I haven't read books by either Jackie Bouchard or Lucy Dillon so I'm going to go search for them.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely need to check them out.
DeleteI follow Seanan McGuire on Tumblr and would love to meet her -- even though I haven't read any of her books yet! (I have a bunch on my shelves and Kindle to read, though... just haven't gotten to them yet.)
ReplyDeleteThere are so many and so many of them are good!
DeleteAWESOME list!! I would love to meet Stephen King!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica. He's a very popular man this week.
DeleteI didn't do this TTT because it was too haaaaaaaard. Ha ha. Stephen King would be a good one for me, too, but only because I want to meet his corgi. 🐶✨
ReplyDeleteWell if I had thought to add a deceased author I for sure thing Poe would be a great choice :)
ReplyDeleteMy entire list is dead people actually... including Poe!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT, my book bingo update, and my FraterFest Readathon TBR
hahah I KNEW IT I knew you would have King at the top of your list AND a dead guy. BTW I love that dead guy too. He got me into reading horror :)
