Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
SYNOPSIS: Deep in a Wyoming mine, hell awaits. Nat Blackburn is given an offer he can't refuse by President Teddy Roosevelt. Tales of gold in the abandoned mining town of Hecla abound. The only problem - those who go seeking their fortune never return. Along with his constant companion, Teta, a hired gun with a thirst for adventure, Nat travels to a barren land where even animals dare not tread. Black-eyed children, strange lights and ferocious wild men venture from the deep, dark ghost mine...as well as a sinister force hungry for fresh souls.
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: Because it's Hunter Shea and I'm loving all the Flame Tree Press releases!
WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK???
Well, okay, this is not my type of book, but when I read the synopsis, I couldn't help giggling.... Why? Well, because Nat's companion is named "Teta". Pronounced with "e" as in "pet", this name means "boob" in Spanish.... ROFL!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy this book! I also hope you're feeling MUCH better, and that this word won't make you giggle TOO hard!
HUGS TO YOU AND THE PUPS, AND "WOOF, WOOF" TO THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
That is awesome. I will definitely be giggling a lot when I read this now!
DeleteAlright, this sounds ominous in just your kind of way! I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteHunter Shae, good stuff! I can't wait for When the Devil Calls by Anthony Renfro. It's sitting in my Kindle right now!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm gonna look for that one.
DeleteYou know this is on my list! Never pass up another Hunter Shea book!
ReplyDeleteMe neither (and Stormi too).
DeleteThis is a new-to-me author. I'm tempted to add this one to my list.
ReplyDeleteOh he has so many good books out. Don't wait for this one - go grab Creature.
DeleteJust read your comment about 'boob' in Spanish. I bet there's a lot of words like that around that would make us either laugh or gasp in horror!
ReplyDeleteI can never get used to you guys saying everyone's so spunky! (Get a hanky! lol)
Anyway, now I've lowered the tone... (sorry) Here's my WOW Wednesday post. Jedi, you shall be!
It is very funny!
DeleteOoo another Hunter Shea. Sounds good to me.
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
I thought you'd think so!
DeleteOh cool! This guy sure writes fast, I swear he publishes three or four books a year! I'm terrified of books with mines and tunnels, so this should be good😁
ReplyDeleteYes he does but upon some searching, I think this is an old re-release. I still want it though!
DeleteThis looks terriffying! I love when ghost hunters go in old mines. So creepy. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of this after it’s released.
ReplyDeleteYes, mines are very creepy.
DeleteOoh, this sounds creepy! I've read a couple of stories featuring black-eyed children that have absolutely terrified me, so just the mention of them gives me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteI agree, they are pretty creepy.
DeleteThis one sounds super good! I love the idea of a ghost mine. :)
ReplyDeleteWould be a great haunted attraction huh?
DeleteI love the premise of this one! You have intrigued me to learn more about this author's books. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's plenty of his books to chose from.
Delete"Black-eyed children, strange lights and ferocious wild men venture from the deep, dark ghost mine...as well as a sinister force hungry for fresh souls." Wow, this sounds super creepy, but in the best possible way. I hope you love it when you read it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteStill gotta get my act together and finally read Hunter Shea!

ReplyDeleteOh yea. Such a great thing.
DeleteYes, I love these horror picks up yours. Hope this ends up being a good one!
ReplyDeleteGlad to help!
DeleteHow many books has he written?
ReplyDeleteA lot!
DeleteI've got this same book one under the title of Hell Hole from Samhain publishing. I wonder if they changed any of the story? I'll go ahead and get the paperback if I enjoy my ebook copy.
ReplyDeleteAfter posting this I saw later it was a re-release. I'm curious if it's changed too but since I never read the original, I guess I won't know.
DeleteI should try this author then? Sounds like you love his work.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Yes you should - read Creature. It's one of my faves.
