What's Happening...(09-07-19)

So I'm doing things a tad bit differently this year and will be combining all of my regular weekend posts.  This will enable me to add more content on Fridays and it is just starting to make more sense.  I'll still be linking up with Stacking the Shelves at Tynga's Reviews and Sunday Post at Caffeinated Reviewer.  Both blogs are awesome so make sure you check them out.

It seems like it's been a really busy week but you know what, it really hasn't so what's up with that. It is September and Fall is definitely in the air.  We had a large tree in our backyard topped out yesterday - or at least cut away from the numerous roofs it was encroaching on.  It needed done but I could have had more fun with that money that trimming a tree.  However, after watching those guys for a few minutes up that high, I have to admit they earn it.

Good news on the Cassius front - soon he will be having a play date.  His friend Jack's parents live in an apartment complex.  They get so excited when they see each other and I swear Cass knows their work/walk schedule.  We decided this week that once the tree is cut and the yard straightened, Cass and Jack are getting together for a play date.  They always have their leashes on when they see each other and since our yard is fenced in they will be able to run and play.  Now if I can just start remembering Jack's Mom and Dad's names...or will they forever just be Jack's Mom and Dad?

I've really been enjoying Monsterathon and despite a slip where I read 30 pages of a new Chilling Adventures of Sabrina book this week, I've been trying to keep on a TBR. Good new though is that pages read count too so it wasn't a total lost.  So far I've terrorized 1,461 villagers in the first week.  My goal is to wipe out my childhood hometown before the month is over which has a population of close to 4,000.  #girlhastohavegoals  Here's what I'll be reading this week and upcoming week:

I actually didn't really haul any books this week so that's a rarity. Oh well I'm sure I'll make up for it soon.  We did manage to watch "Ma" the other night.  It wasn't really scary and struck me more as a thriller but it was a decent watch.  I finished the first twisted season of "YOU" and now have to wait for more and we also finished up "Yellowstone" season 2.  And how could I forget, we watched lots and lots of football - GO HERD!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  Are you reading or watching anything good???

I still have to finish YOU- it's one of the Netflix shows I started but have been neglecting.

    1. I liked it a lot more than I anticipated and it's one where I actually had given up on the book until I saw the series. Now I finally started it. However, I know Joe is the stalker but I think Beck is horrible as well.

  2. It's been sort of quiet for me too when it comes to new books, I don't know if it's just the publishing trends for the end of summer, or I'm just getting better at resisting buying/requesting/borrowing anything that looks interesting :P I'm actually pretty curious about The Imaginary Corpse, so I'm looking forward to your thoughts on that one!

    1. I think because the Fall is such a big time for releases, all the books we want are coming out. I do think requests slow down between October-December. Hard to believe I already have a few arcs for 2020!

  3. I hope Cass and Jack have fun when they get their play date! It's been a good reading week overall-four finished and five DNFs to kickstart the month! That's it Barb, you get stuck in and spread terror everywhere!

  6. We are at dog training on Saturday morning and they are not allowed to meet or play with the other dogs which they find difficult. We also have the fenced in yard and need to set up a play date with friends. I wish it would get a bit cooler here soon. Have a great week - it looks like some good books on tap.

    1. I would have a hard time not allowing them to play. I love to watch puppies play!

  8. I'm so happy Cass gets to romp leash free with his buddy. I've gotten to the point with my age that I just say, "I'm sorry, what is your name again?" It's HARD to do, but it's like ripping off a bandaid because you don't have to worry about it anymore. Ha ha. 😁

Have a wonderful new week. 🌞

  9. The Kate Daniels series is one of my favorites! I haven't read them all yet, although I devoured the first 6 or 7 in like two weeks. I've started spacing them out so they last longer. :)

  11. I've had to reign in my requests - I took such a lot on for this month and October but slowing down is good.
Cass has a play date - hope that's great fun.

    1. I actually liked the series so much I picked up the book (which was already on my shelf). It's a lot of fun and all the characters are so awful that I'm actually pulling for the stalker!

  13. Oh boy. We have two trees we need to get completely cut down in 2020. I'd like to do it now, but we definitely don't have the money for it as we just paid 3k to clean and seal our hvac system... *sigh* I can't believe how pricy tree cutting is, but it does make sense! I'm glad you were able to get that project done. Hopefully you don't have to cut any more back for a long time to come!
