FROM GOODREADS: Our favorite white trash zombie, Angel Crawford, has enough problems of her own, what with dealing with her alcoholic, deadbeat dad, issues with her not-quite boyfriend, the zombie mafia, industrial espionage and evil corporations. Oh, and it’s raining, and won’t let up.
But things get even crazier when a zombie movie starts filming in town, and Angel begins to suspect that it’s not just the plot of the movie that's rotten. Soon she's fighting her way through mud, blood, bullets and intrigue, even as zombies, both real and fake, prowl the streets.
Angel’s been through more than her share of crap, but this time she’s in way over her head. She’ll need plenty of brainpower to fit all the pieces—and body parts—together in order to save herself, her town, and quite possibly the human race.

MY THOUGHTS:  I am so glad I decided to join this 6-month series readalong because I'm having so much fun with these books and so far, have loved them all.  My only regret is that the discussions are on Sunday afternoons once a month which is usually when my mom visits us.  However, I look forward to visiting Angel and her gang once a month and if I didn't have other reading obligations, would have picked #4 up right after finishing this one.

Once again Angel finds herself in deeper and deeper with the whole "there are zombies living in town" thing.  Her relationship with her cop/boyfriend/zombie Daddy has slowed down but is still going strong, she is still living with her dad and trying to rebuild their tenuous relationship, and people are still trying to use her for experiments.  Oh, and she is also having confusing maternal instincts for Phillip, who she was forced to turn, even though it seems as if he is trying to kill her.

It's hard to go into much without giving a lot away but I can safely say this series continues to be action-packed and a lot of fun.  I love Angel and especially appreciated the growth and development of the relationship with her father.  I anticipated 2024 might be the year of my return to urban fantasy and so far, so good!

MY RATING: 5 PAWS
