What's Happening (11-30-19)...

So I'm doing things a tad bit differently this year and will be combining all of my regular weekend posts.  This will enable me to add more content on Fridays and it is just starting to make more sense.  I'll still be linking up with Stacking the Shelves at Tynga's Reviews and Sunday Post at Caffeinated Reviewer.  Both blogs are awesome so make sure you check them out.

First of all, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday (if you celebrated) and spent lots of time with family and friends.  I will admit I've been kind of scarce this week but am trying to catch up on visits and comments so don't worry - they're coming!

Cass had a wonderful birthday, which reminds me I need to get his pictures posted.  Look for them next week.  Our anniversary was super nice and I got some lovely roses, among other things.  The picture of Booker T for Mr. Barb was an absolute hit as well.  Of course we never doubted that did we?

Gpa came up and ate Thanksgiving Dinner with us and then he came down with a cold the following day so I ran and got him some much needed meds.  Stupid Uncle is in off the barge but to be honest, he's about as useful here and he is when he's gone.  Mr. Barb and I have enjoyed our time off and Cass definitely enjoyed having people around all day.  I did some reading but also managed to watch a lot of shows.  We are now current on Castle Rock (the verdict is still out on this one).  We also watched Sweetheart which is a horror movie about a woman who washes up on a deserted island and ends up battling a monster which reminds me of an upgraded Creature from the Black Lagoon.  We watched IT Part 2 which I know has mixed reviews but which I found terrifying.  We watched a few other things as well.  Yep, we played couch potatoes pretty well.

I hope to get some books finished before the vacation is officially over.  Here's what I'd love to wrap up this weekend.

I hauled a few books but to be honest, just want to wrap this up so I can get it posted.  Look for some exciting books next week!

  1. I'll be buying IT part 2 when it comes out here in January and then I plan to binge watch both parts together! I'm so looking forward to that! I'm in couch potato mode too and on a cold day like this, I'm glad not to venture outside!

    1. I always forget you have different release dates. We own both so someday when I'm home sick I can do a marathon anytime I chose. It's rainy and dreary here today too but I had to go to work.

  4. Happy to hear your Thanksgiving was semi-uneventful. Sometimes that's all we can hope for. I hope your grandfather is feeling better. It's wonderful he has you to look after him. 👍✨

I be looking out for those Cass photos, and happy anniversary again! 💐!

  5. Glad to hear you had a lovely time off and a happy anniversary!
Playing couch potato doesn't seem like a bad thing over Thanksgiving... We don't have Thanksgiving here but I imagine it's a bit like our Boxing Day (day after Christmas).

    1. Well, there's 2 more episodes left and just like last year, I feel more confused as the series progresses. I feel like they've thrown too much together. I mean we have some Pennywise references, Shawshank, Misery and Salem's Lot. Wonder if they'll try a season 3?

  10. Playing couch potato sounds perfect. I also watched IT part 2 - it was definitely scary, maybe even a little bit overloaded with not enough chance to breathe in between.
I look forward to seeing your book haul.

    1. Now that you mention it, I can see where it is a tad overloaded. Good think I like that kind of thing.
