What's Happening (04-11-20)...

So I'm doing things a tad bit differently this year and will be combining all of my regular weekend posts.  This will enable me to add more content on Fridays and it is just starting to make more sense.  I'll still be linking up with Stacking the Shelves at Tynga's Reviews and Sunday Post at Caffeinated Reviewer.  Both blogs are awesome so make sure you check them out.

First of all I want to apologize for not really visiting or replying to many comments this week.  It's kind of been one of those weeks.  We're all fine and I even managed to visit Gpa twice again but the lack of motivation to do much else was real.  I did finally kick it in Friday and did some cleaning which actually made me feel better.  I'm just feeling so horrible about the state of the world today.  A big shout-out to my blogging buddies because you guys are helping tremendously whether you realize it or not.  Pretty much this has been me all week.

So we are still watching Shameless and are up to Season 3 Episode 4.  I also started watching Motherland: Fort Salem.  Strange but good but I'm only 2 episodes in. I'm caught up on Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist which is an annoying little show that I'm absolutely in love with.  I'm Team Simon all the way.  I have been reading more and this weekend plan I hope to finish both of these.  I think my problem right now is I want to read EVERYTHING at the SAME TIME.  And it just doesn't work that way.

I have also picked up a few more books for my Kindle.  What can I say - stress shopping?  Works for me not that I feel any of us need any excuse to buy books.  I saw Erica over at Erica Robyn Reads raving about The Patience of a Dead Man series so I grabbed the first two.  Of course I had preordered  A Werewolf in Riverdale.  Was there ever a question? And when I got an offer to grab Dean Koontz's Devoted for $6.99 as  Kindle in Motion, when the hardback is over $25.00, I took it as a sign and grabbed it as well.

So if you are celebrating Easter this weekend, enjoy.  If you are just spending time relaxing or with family, I hope you enjoy that as well. The important thing is that everyone stays safe.

In the words of Cassius and Apollo - WOOF WOOF!

Also, I've been home too much.  Apollo hates to come in from outside so I find tricks to get him in - toys, cheese, etc.  Friday things got bad and I started barking - hey it worked.

  1. I hope you're holding up and are feeling better! Definitely easy to feel down with the state of the world being the way it is. I hope you'll enjoy some of your new books though, I just finished Southern Book Club and it was fun, though disturbing at times!

  2. I'm glad things are ok with you guys. My stubborn uncle has been going out every day with no protection and now he wants my dad to drive him to the supermarket in the middle of the Easter weekend, putting my dad at risk of catching something. Our entire quarantine until it is safe plan is being destroyed. So much for my stress free weekend.

I'm waiting for delivery from Amazon of Grady Hendrix-I love that cover!

  3. YASSSS! I cannot wait to see what you think of Patience of a Deadman!! I'm so obsessed with the trilogy. One thing that someone else pointed out to me about the first book is that it seems to have some "fluff" to round out the book and it got a little repetitive. I didn't catch on to that which is odd because that's one of my biggest irks! Perhaps I didn't notice because I just loved the story so much... I can't wait to see what you think! The second novel does seem more "fine tuned" if you will :) Enjoy!!

  4. Life just sucks at the moment, and I hope all of this is over soon. I never thought I'd want to get back to working full time, but I miss my coworkers. So far I haven't had trouble reading, but you never know when my mood will change, lol. Hope your weekend is good and give your pups some extra cheese!😁

  6. I'm also struggling with motivation. I have things I want and need to do, but I don't do them. Each day I try to change it. We all need to learn to slow down and relax and this is finally giving us that opportunity.

I love those 2 books you are reading.

I hope you have a relaxing, safe week!

  7. I always want to read EVERYTHING, which often leads to reading nothing...or a ton of books for the first 50 pages. Ugh. I snagged Southern Book Club from Overdrive this week. I've been excited for that one. Stay safe and happy reading!

  8. I can relate, the state of the world is pretty ridiculous. I saw the Krakatoa explosion on Twitter last night and I was like- what next lol?

Good luck with your reads this weekend and hope they're good!

"I started barking" haha! That made me smile!

  9. I grabbed Devoted too! And A Werewolf In Riverdale is going on my list. I've not been visiting as much myself lately. Been one of those weeks, I guess. Stay well and Happy Easter.

  11. I hear you about not being motivated. I've been working from home for 3 weeks now, and probably will for at least another 3 weeks. I can't really see my family since they live hours away, so it's just me, myself, and I for Easter.

  12. I have been through those time where it is hard to actually do things. I am glad to hear you are doing well. These are stressful times so just do what feels right to you. I am sure that Cass and Apollo enjoy having you home with them. Have a great week!

  13. I kept seeing The Southern Book Club cover around, but I didn't realize it was about vampires. Huh. Happy reading!

  14. It's certainly a scary time. I haven't been quite right since it all began. I just want everything to be normal again. I hope you have a great week and try to enjoy your books and TV. Stay safe!

  15. I feel really bad about not being around much. I'm having a hard time falling into a new routine. :( I hope you have a better week this week.

  16. Yep, that picture and your comments is absolutely me to a tee, it really is. I definitely have a lack of motivation and can't concentrate and on top of that, I keep buying books even though I'm barely reading. Hopefully I'll shake myself out of it soon.

  17. (((((((HUGS)))))))

I'm happy to hear you all are okay, including Grandpa. 👍✨

I've been in that wanting to read everything at once mode, too, which I think is okay considering the circumstances. 📚

I've been watching a lot of my favorite YouTuber's older videos. It's fun to see how much they've changed. 💻

    I hope you've been having a good week! 🌞
