What's Happening (04-18-20)...

So I'm doing things a tad bit differently this year and will be combining all of my regular weekend posts.  This will enable me to add more content on Fridays and it is just starting to make more sense.  I'll still be linking up with Stacking the Shelves at Tynga's Reviews and Sunday Post at Caffeinated Reviewer.  Both blogs are awesome so make sure you check them out.

So I kind of feel like I'm failing at life right now.  I'm still behind visiting blogs and replying to comments.  All I can say is I will get there and I want to thank everyone for sticking with me.

I also need to say that I wonder if COVID-19 is triggering some agoraphobia around the world?  I mean I've always been fine working but then REALLY enjoy my home time.  Seems like now the longer I self isolate the more I don't want to go out at all.  I'm sure others are feeling that way and I know once I get back to work it will pass, but for now, I'm embracing my home time.  I do go visit Gpa twice a week and groceries once a week so don't worry that I'm hiding out.  Just being safe about it.

It was definitely a good TV week.  We watched a movie called Infection which was too close to home but entertaining.  It was in subtitled but I sometimes think foreign zombie films are the best.  I am also one episode to being caught up on Season 4 of Riverdale.  I feel down that crazy rabbit hole this week and watched about 10 episodes.  It's as crazy as ever.  Other than that nothing is really standing out.  Mr. Barb is still playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey so that gives me more reading time.

The pups are doing fine and I really need to get some new pictures for you guys this coming week.  Can you believe Apollo is almost 6 months old?  Time flies...except when you're on lockdown huh?  Besides visiting Gpa on Saturday, no real plans except reading, blogging and walking the dogs.  Here's what's up on the stack.  I'm almost halfway done with The Amityville Horror and have started The Stranger as well.  I need to get some motivation on the Longmire book though.

I also received a few books for review and as usual, I think they all sound pretty good.  I love the sounds of Sanctuary and the book is compared to Big Little Lies meets Practical Magic.  The Rise of Zombert seems like an adorable MG that is too fun to pass up.  And finally, I'm going to be honest.  I couldn't resist the snowy cover of Before the Ruins

So I hope everyone is staying safe and have a great weekend and week ahead!

  1. I enjoy my home time too, but I think this lockdown has had the opposite effect, now I can't wait for my weekly shopping trips and I take my dog on extra walks lol. I think my workload has actually increased though, so maybe that's why. My reading has gone down :\

  2. So Riverdale is my new obsession, having completely missed it when it came out. I'm in the middle of season 2 and OMG. This show is NUTS! I'm in love with Jughead and yesterday I bought a Jughead Funko Pop! I blame COVID-19🤣🤣 Also, I know what you mean about agoraphobia. The longer I stay at home, the more I love staying at home. It's going to be tough to get back to "real" life.

  3. I'm kind of a homebody, but I also like to go out walking and hiking, and unfortunately all our favorite hiking and walking places are closed!

    1. Oh that's too bad. You can be outside but don't have access to the places you love.

  4. I also like staying home more than most and don't want to go out. I am trying really hard to get around and comment but it does take a lot of time every day. I've had to skip posts in genres I wouldn't read to be able to keep up mostly.

I wish I was getting more productive and maybe after this week I'll manage.

Stay safe and be kind. Happy reading!

    1. Sometimes I think I'm more productive with less time on my hands. It's like when I have plenty of time, I always put things off for later.

  5. That cover of Before the Ruins is pretty irresistible. And the longer I stay home, the less I feel like going out into the world. It'd be different if the virus was gone and no one was still getting sick, but lately even a trip to the grocery store adds to my stress. But things will get better. Right? Hope you have a good weekend! :D

  7. I had Agoraphobia before this whole mess hit so I can understand if others are feeling like staying home now too.

  8. I'm actually enjoying the time at home as well, but then as an introvert I do anyway. I thought it would bother me more though, I always like going out to eat or the bookstore or just out and abut, and obviously THAT'S not happening lol.

I need to get caught up on Riverdale!!!

    1. I do miss a bookstore. Especially since Amazon hasn't shipped the new King book and I can't access it anywhere. Oh well, I know there are much more important things right now.

  9. I do like my time at home. I wish that this pandemic didn't happen because I hate to think of people being sick and the economic impact but I am liking the fact that I get to stay at home more. I have been going to work and buy supplies when necessary but that is it.

I hope you enjoy your new books and your planned reads. Have a great week!

  10. I don't want to go out at all so I know what you mean. I'm now too scared to even go to the shops. Of course even before the virus I avoided going out where possible but now I get jittery going to the shops and my brain seems to freeze when I go in and I can't remember what I need or where to find it. I'm struggling to post anything fun and keep getting behind on blog posts because my concentration is shot or I'm tired. I think lots of us are struggling! Reading is still going very slow but we're watching some good TV! We're on season 4 of Gold Rush which my dad is loving and I'm rewatching seasons 13 and 14 of Deadliest Catch.

    1. I think it's great you and your dad can enjoy watching things together right now. That must be pretty calming at least.

  11. I think people can at least understand agoraphobia better now. We've been spending a lot of time outdoors lately just in the yard.

  13. I loved being at home before and guarded my "home time" but now I just want to go back into the office and go places even though the thought actually scares me... The lockdown situation will definitely cause scars on people, I think. :(

  14. I'm having such a hard time focusing because of COVID... I feel like my mind is SO scattered! I've been having trouble blog hopping too... I've also discovered that I just can't think of things to say on a lot of blogs that I've been following or a long time, but just don't have similar reading tastes any more. It may be time for a spring feedly list clean up :)
