What's Happening (08-01-20)...

So I'm doing things a tad bit differently this year and will be combining all of my regular weekend posts.  This will enable me to add more content on Fridays and it is just starting to make more sense.  I'll still be linking up with Stacking the Shelves at Tynga's Reviews and Sunday Post at Caffeinated Reviewer.  Both blogs are awesome so make sure you check them out.

It's been a while since I've done an update and basically all I can say is while I haven't been in a reading slump, I have been in a bit of a life slump.

Gpa finally made it out of the hospital after having a geriatric psychological evaluation.  They determined he is in early stages of dementia but also feel it could have been aggravated by extremely low B12 and lack of sleep because he was suffering from severe insomnia.  He is home with home health, neighbors and family and friends checking on him to see how he is doing.  I've been trying to go down twice a week instead of just once and doing some of his shopping.  Let's keep our fingers crossed this works.

Cassius hasn't felt good the past two days.  We think he had some allergies flare up which made a lot of mucus in his stomach and he's had some difficulty eating.  We are watching him closely and he's starting to eat some this evening.  He's still drinking water but if he isn't better tomorrow, off to the ER vet he does.  Apollo is still growing like a weed and is over 70 pounds now.  His biting has gotten much better but every once in a while he still slips into Nosferatu.  I am participating in Dog Days of Summer (will have the announcement and all the info up next week) so look for some more Apollo posts (and Cass as well).

As I mentioned, I have been doing a lot of reading but to be honest, don't know what I'm picking up next.  I have also acquired a few books for review and can't wait to dive into them.

So look for an indie horror haul next week as I have some saved on my Amazon wishlist that are seriously calling my name!  Hope you all are staying safe!

  1. Crossing my fingers the situation with your grandpa improves. In terms of books, you got some great stuff. I've been seeing It Came from the Multiplex everywhere, it's really tempting!

  2. I hope the home care works for Gpa and that he's doing ok. It's a bit worrying about Cass and I hope he feels better very soon even if it is a trip to the vet. Give the poor boy a cuddle for me.

Oh good an Indie horror haul is always fun! I like that multiplex cover as well...

    1. Cass is doing much better. I put him back on his Fortaflora a probiotic I can order through Amazon, and it seems to be doing the trick.

    1. Cass is already doing better. I had to have it because of the 80s angle. Hope you have a great week too!

  5. I hope everything goes well with your Gpa. I have a list of what I need to read next but if I get even a little ahead I sneak off and read a library book for fun. Well everything is fun but something where I'm not writing a review.

  6. Barb, I'm so sorry to hear your Gpa's diagnosis. I hope the new situation, with all those people around him and you visiting more often helps!<3

    1. He seems to be doing better right now. He is sleeping much better and that seems to be helping more than anything. Plus his b12 is up and I didn't realize how much that effects memory.

  8. Hope your gpa is doing okay?
I had my eye on the Bridget Collins book - I think she wrote the Binding which I also enjoyed.
    Happy reading.

    1. She did write The Binding. I still want to read that one. Gpa is doing better. Not as good as I want but not bad either.

  9. I hope Cass is feeling better. (((((((HUGS))))))) 🐾✨

I hope and pray that the B-12 does the trick for Grandpa. It's wonderful there are people who can look in on him. Keep us updated. 👍✨

    1. Sorry for such a late reply. The B-12 is helping but I wish people were checking in on him as much as they said they would!
