A-Z Survey Tag

This book tag was created by Perpetual Page Turner and here is the link to the original post.  However, I saw it over at Chuckles Book Cave.  I thought it looked fun so I decided to give it a go!

A - Author You've Read The Most Books From:
It has to be Stephen King.  A close second is probably Charlaine Harris since I read all the Sookie Stackhouse books.

B - Best Sequel Ever:
Off the top of my head I'm going to say Stephen King's "Doctor Sleep."  I know lots of people didn't like it but I loved "The Shining" so much I was just glad this book came along.  For the record though, I don't think "The Shining" needed a sequel.

C - Currently Reading:
The Coven (The Crystal Coast Series #1) by Chrissy Lessey

D - Drink of Choice While Reading:
Corona (from a bottle)

E - E Book or Physical Book:
Both

F- Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Dated in High School:
I don't do book boyfriends so I'm changing this to a pet I would have had in high school - Smooshie from Renee George's Barkside of the Moon series.

G - Glad You Gave This Book a Chance:
"Mad" by Chloe Esposito

H - Hidden Gem:
"Dead & Breakfast" by Stuart R. West

I - Important Moment in Your Bookish Life:
Probably creating this blog because I've met some really great people.

J - Just Finished
"Final Girls" by Riley Sager

K - Kind of Books You Won't Read:
I don't like to say won't but I will say that books which are strictly romance rarely catch my attention unless there's a dog on the cover.

L - Longest Book You've Read:
"Under the Dome" by Stephen King (1074 pages)

M - Major Book Hangover:
Don't really get them enough for them to stand out and remember them.  Maybe "The Most Beautiful" by Mayte Garcia because after reading it, I only missed Prince more.

N - Number of Bookcases You Own:
5 but need to order 4 more for room renovation.

O - One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
"Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott (3 times)

P - Preferred Place to Read:
At the end of the couch snuggling with my boxers

Q - Quote that Inspires You:
"When all else fails, give up and go to the library."  Stephen King from "11/22/63"

R- Reading Regret:
None really but I'd have to say reading really over-hyped books and being disappointed.  Two that stick out are "Final Girls" and "The 5th Wave."

S - Series You Started and Need to Finish:
Tons - Right now I'm thinking the Undead series by Maryjanice Davidson or the InCryptid series by Seanan McGuire.

T - Three of Your All-Time Favorite Books:
"The Art of Racing in the Rain," "The Shining," and "What Dreams May Come."

U - Unapologetic Fangirl/Fanguy For:
Any book with a cute dog on the cover!  Also, books about Prince.

V - Very Excited For This Release:
"A Treacherous Curse" by Deanna Raybourn (Veronica Speedwell #3)

W - Worst Bookish Habit:
Buying books based on covers alone.

X - X Marks the Spot (27th book from top left of shelf):
"Change of Season: A Memoir" by John Oates

Y - Your Latest Book Purchase:
"Because You Love to Hate Me" and "The Hell-Hound of Baskersville - Warlock Holmes #2)

Z - Snatcher Book That Kept You Up Late:
"The Marsh King's Daughter" by Karen Dionne

So there you go.  Anyone who wants to do this - you're tagged!  Just let me know so I can check out your answers.

  1. I love these tags because I feel I learn more about my blogger friend :) I love to find the commonalities. I adore "What Dreams May Come." too and and have read little Women more times that I could count! :)

    1. Yep, it's cool to see what we have in common and this was such a fun one to do. Actually "What Dreams May Come" is one of my three top favorite movies of all time. In fact, Robin Williams passing only solidified it in the top three forever and ever. More people should watch that movie.

I've heard they are making a "Little Women" series but I don't have much info about it. I have a book called "Little Women and Werewolves" which is a retelling I've owned for years and never read - I need to find it!

  2. I love the quote you picked from 11/22/63! I've been thinking about that book a lot lately, I think it's almost time for a reread!

    1. I'm hoping to watch the Hulu series soon. I'm not paying $12.00 a month for nothing. Of course Castle Rock should start soon too.

  3. I've read a lot of Stephen King-just slightly less than Richard Laymon for completed books! Yes to a lovely pet like Smooshie. Pets are better than book boyfriends...I wish we had space for more bookcases but we don't have any left. I think we all have tons of series we need to catch up on! Great answers!

    1. I agree about pets being better. Pretty much everyone I've seen do this tag have mentioned they have series they need to catch up on. Must be a bookworm thing.

  4. The Shining has a sequel? Not that I read the book LOL, but still, I didn't know that. I like how you changed the question from boyfriend to pet because I wouldn't have an answer for that one either. Cute reading quote!

    1. Yes even though it didn't need one. I think I liked it better than a lot of people but I didn't really look at it as a sequel when I read it :)

  5. I loved reading your answers, and I'm definitely going to "tag" myself and do this too! ;) I'm with you on favorite place to read -- Alohi is a very good snuggler. I'm also super-excited for the next Veronica Speedwell book! I'm reading her Lady Julia Grey series right now. I loved book 1 and I have book 2 waiting for me at the library.

  6. You are right. The Shining didn't need a sequel, but who are we to turn it down? :) The Shining is my favorite King and in my top 5 books in general.

Yes, a bottle of Corona is the correct answer.

I may steal this tag, too. It's fun, and frankly, I have no posts planned for this week. Haha.
