June 2017 Wrap Up - Goodreads Is Out To Get Me!

June has been a decent reading month and I'm still trucking along with most of my challenges.  I'm failing epicly with one of them but at least I'm owning it.  And I can't forget to mention Goodreads.  I think it's taunting me.  For real, I could add a completed book and be caught up and then check again at noon and be one behind again.  That happened several times this month.  But I'm hot on your tail Goodreads so you better watch your back! Here's how things are shaping up.

GOODREADS: 49/100 (1 behind but I've already finished one for July so technically I'm caught up - probably for half a day or so)
2017 CLOAK & DAGGER CHALLENGE: 23/25 (Elvis and the Memphis City Mambo, Chew Vol. 3, UNSUB, The Marsh King's Daughter, Snotgirl, UNSUB)
2017 FLIGHTS OF FANTASY CHALLENGE: 18/18 (Saga Vol. 6, Rise of the Sea Witch)
2017 HORROR READING CHALLENGE: 14/25 (Tales from the Darkside, Just Add Water, Mormama)
2017 WHAT AN ANIMAL CHALLENGE: 14/20 (Elvis and the Memphis City Mambo, Rise of the Sea Witch, Just Add Water)
2017 NEW RELEASE CHALLENGE: 34/61 (Tales from the Darkside, UNSUB, Rise of the Sea Witch, The Marsh King's Daughter, Just Add Water, Snotgirl Vol. 1, Mormama)
BLOGGER SHAME REVIEW CHALLENGE: 2/12
COYER SUMMER READING LIST: 3 (Rise of the Sea Witch, Saga Vol. 6, UNSUB)

I had 1 2-paw read, 8 4-paw reads and 1 5-paw reads.  Not too shabby.  I'd have to say my favorites of the month were Saga Vol. 6, Just Add Water and The Marsh King's Daughter.  I really couldn't stand Snotgirl, aka Bitch Girl.

So how are your challenges shaping up?  Are you meeting your personal reading goals?  Do you think we readers sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves?

  2. I'm ahead in all but mu cozy challenge. That's odd as I really enjoy them. Guess I better write those reviews so I can add them. You're doing very well!

    Happy 4th of July!

  4. You're doing great so far! I'm ahead on my challenge but only because I did a lot of reading at the very beginning of the year before I got more busy XD Hopefully I am still able to complete my goal.

    1. I go through reading spurts but pretty much am always reading something. It's nice to be able to slow down some.

  5. I always put more pressure on myself than I need to purely because the numbers on the tbr are scary! I keep telling myself to chill but I just always feel I MUST be reading, y'know? Your numbers are looking good for this month...yea!

    1. I still feel like I'm reading for enjoyment even when I do put pressure on myself because it's my hobby. Hope you get some books of the TBR for July. There are a lot of new releases coming out I'm interested in so I can see mine growing.

  6. Lol well at least you're staying really close to your Goodreads goal. And wow, you're doing fantastically on most of the other ones! My only official goal is to Goodreads one, which I'm doing really well on, but I'm not sure how I'm doing on my unofficial goals. Probably not very good lol.

  7. I'm doing Cloak and Dagger too this year and so far I'm keeping up- thanks to all the thrillers I've been reading. You're doing great! Goodreads is just being difficult! Ha ha

    Happy 4th!

    1. I have fun doing them and technically, if I don't meet them all, I'm ok with that as long as I'm having fun trying.

  9. I am like 9 books behind on Goodreads so its really taunting me. :( It's like once you get behind unless you have a lot of shorties to read it's hard to catch up...lol. :)

  10. You are doing great on your challenges! The only one I'm succeeding at is my Goodreads challenge. The others... not so much.

  11. I'm really struggling with Goodreads these days too. Also I discovered that the GR phone ap sucks:-( If I finish a book and click "read" it doesn't show up on my read list until I go into the computer and set the date! Now I wonder how many books I've read all these years that I didn't get credit for! Ok rant over...happy 4th!

    1. If that's the case, then what good is the app at all? That's crazy.

  12. I'm always behind on Goodreads - I have a challenge to read 100 books and it looks on GR as though I'm behind - in actual fact I'm not its just that all my books are not always posted on there. Shame on me :D
Great month for you though and very impressive with all your challenges.

  13. You're doing better than I am with your challenges, as I still haven't started the Blogger Shame Challenge. I'm so ashamed! ha! And I hear you about Goodreads! Pretty sure they like to taunt us but constantly making us feel like we're behind, even though we're really not.

  14. I know exactly what you are talking about in terms of the Goodreads challenge. I barely made my goal last year and it taunted me the whole time. I set a low goal this year just so I don't have to look at how far behind I am.
