Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
FROM GOODREADS: After losing her hand in a tragic accident, Rachel is plagued by vivid nightmares of a hollow tree, and a hand reaching from it, begging her for help. Terrified that she is going mad, Rachel experiences phantom sensations of leaves, trees, and finally a hand that grasps hers and pulls a young woman into Rachel's world. She has no idea of who she is, but Rachel can't help but think of the local legend of Oak Mary, the corpse of a woman found hidden in a hollow tree, and who was never identified. Three myths have grown up around the body; was she a spy, a prostitute or a murdered gypsy? Rachel is desperate to learn the truth, but darker forces are at work. For a rule has been broken, and Mary is in a world where she doesn't belong...
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: This is touted as a new fantasy novel and to be honest, I'm not sure where I first heard about it. I really love the cover - must be the green. I'm super anxious to learn more about the woman who comes out of the tree.
WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK???
I didn't know about this book but I'm convinced I want to read it now. The description of this book reminds me of the myth from the 40's of "Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?". I'm really intrigued!
ReplyDeleteI need to look up that myth. It's not one I'm familiar with.
DeleteI like the way green is used so well on the cover. I'll be interested in seeing reviews of this book...
ReplyDeleteYes the green caught my eye before anything else.
DeleteI like the green as well. And a woman coming out of a tree? Mystery? Sign me up!
ReplyDeleteSounds good right?
DeleteThis sounds more like horror than fantasy, but I'm sold! Although I want to know how she lost her hand😐
ReplyDeleteYea I'm not sure about the genre Goodreads has it classified in but either way, it sound pretty good. Like you, what happened to that hand!
DeleteThis one sounds really creepy - but very intriguing. I look forward to hearing what you make of it, Barb:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
Yes, creepy is always good!
DeleteWow, this one sounds really good! Is it YA or adult? Thanks for visiting my Wednesday post earlier!
ReplyDeleteLisa I think it's adult. For some reason, that's how I took it.
DeleteI'm loving the cover but will wait for reviews as I don't read a lot of straight up fantasy. It sounds pretty promising though!
ReplyDeleteI don't read much epic fantasy so I'm hoping it's not THAT much fantasy.
DeleteI love fantasy and I love this cover. Definitely one I'm going to keep my eye out for. Thank you for visiting my blog earlier!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome and hopefully this one gets some good reviews.

DeleteThe Hollow Tree sounds really good, Barb. Creepy and full of suspense. Adding this to my wish list.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to learn more about it.
DeleteWow this looks freaky and good. I love the green cover too, and the tagline is a bit chilling. Sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteYes, a good tagline can definitely "make" a book.
DeleteSounds like a really cool fantasy. I hope that you enjoy it! :)
ReplyDeleteNow I have to add Oak Mary to Bloody Mary. That's a lot of scary Marys. I hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of scary Marys.
DeleteI do like the cover and it sounds pretty interesting. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eve.
DeleteNot usually my genre, but I'm intrigued by the sound of this one.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather attention grabbing.
DeleteI just added this one to my watchlist. It sounds awesome, I love the hints of horror with the fantasy!

DeleteI love the cover. Eerie and pretty. Sure does sound like something I'd like too.
ReplyDeleteI hope to see more reviews about it soon.
DeleteThat sounds amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
DeleteI haven't heard of this one, but it sounds interesting. I hope you love it when you get to read it. I'd be curious to read your thoughts on this one!
ReplyDeleteOh, Barb, I can't BELIEVE I've actually committed to buddy=read "Dread Nation" with you in April, when it's released! As you know, I'm knock-kneed with FEAR whenever I even THINK of the horror genre! Lol.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you were REALLY surprised when I said I would read this book with you, right? Lol. Maybe it's the fact that it has a kick-butt female protagonist who is BLACK. I think it's about time somebody wrote a book with such a protagonist!
So, about the book you're featuring today.... Yup, my knees are already knocking together! Lol. Hope you enjoy it!!
Thanks for commenting on my CWW post!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE BOYS, AND WOOF, WOOF TO THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
I love fantasy trees! I hope this is awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I love this cover, too. I'll have to be sure to check out the reviews on this one. I hope you enjoy it. :)
