So if you visited The Farm last Tuesday, you remember how I messed up the weeks and did the wrong topic. So this week, I'm gonna share my favorite quotes but with a twist.....
FAVORITE QUOTES FROM WINNIE-THE-POOH AND FRIENDS
But first a little backstory. When I was young (somewhere around the age of 10) I hung out with my Grandmother a lot as she lived next door. She was a wonderful seamstress and was always making things for family and also as a side income. One summer she was making stuffed animals to sell in a local shop. She was doing Holly Hobby and Winnie-the-Pooh. Well, she just assumed I would fall in love with Holly Hobby and made an extra one because didn't ALL girls want dolls? Nope, not me, I grabbed a Pooh and never let go. In fact, I still have Pooh - he's been there through school, college and marriage. She later went on to make some Eeyore's and I'm not sure what happened to him. I never liked him much because my uncle was in charge of gluing on the eyes, noses and mouths and because he was CLUELESS, I had the only SMILING Eeyore. Stupid Uncle. Stupid Cousin Offspring.
So here are some of my favorite quotes from Winnie-the Pooh.
"One of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is always having surprising discoveries."
"I was walking along looking for somebody, and then suddenly I wasn't anymore."
"Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits..."
"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
"Some people care too much. I think it's called love."
AND MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME
"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you."
And I just discovered Disney has a new Pooh movie coming out. Here's the trailer:
All I have to do is hear Pooh's voice and I'm suddenly transported back to childhood. I miss you Grandma!
Also, does anyone remember this song? It's always been a fave of mine.
I enjoyed last week's post so much that I didn't even realise you'd done them the wrong way around! I love your twist on the quotes topic, though - Winnie the Pooh has always been and will always be one of my favourite characters, and there are so many quotes that tug on your heartstrings.
ReplyDeleteI know, basically everything said could be an awesome quote in one way or another.
DeleteI didn't realise you'd done them the wrong way around either! And Barb, my goodness, that last quote makes my heart hurt! What a beautiful one it is! Are you going to see the Pooh movie? We don't have the trailer for that yet, but the Peter Rabbit one is out and every time it just gives me the biggest smile -- just like this one. How wonderful it is to see these characters on screen!
ReplyDeleteI want to see the Peter Rabbit one too. So cute!
DeleteI always felt bad for Pooh because he was never the smartest bear! Poor guy!
ReplyDeleteI know...not very bright.
DeleteAwww so sweet! You gave me goosebumps 😊 I don't remember loving Pooh that much, but I sure love those quotes!
