Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
FROM GOODREADS: The Last Magician meets A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue in this thrilling tale filled with magic and set in the mysterious Carpathian Mountains where a girl must hunt down Vlad the Impaler’s cursed ring in order to save her father.
Some legends never die…
Traveling with her treasure-hunting father has always been a dream for Theodora. She’s read every book in his library, has an impressive knowledge of the world’s most sought-after relics, and has all the ambition in the world. What she doesn’t have is her father’s permission. That honor goes to her father’s nineteen-year-old protégé—and once-upon-a-time love of Theodora’s life—Huck Gallagher, while Theodora is left to sit alone in her hotel in Istanbul.
Until Huck arrives from an expedition without her father and enlists Theodora’s help in rescuing him. Armed with her father’s travel journal, the reluctant duo learns that her father had been digging up information on a legendary and magical ring that once belonged to Vlad the Impaler—more widely known as Dracula—and that it just might be the key to finding him.
Journeying into Romania, Theodora and Huck embark on a captivating adventure through Gothic villages and dark castles in the misty Carpathian Mountains to recover the notorious ring. But they aren’t the only ones who are searching for it. A secretive and dangerous occult society with a powerful link to Vlad the Impaler himself is hunting for it, too. And they will go to any lengths—including murder—to possess it.
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: I love the historical elements and am always intrigued when I see Vlad the Impaler mentioned. I hope it isn't too filled with romantic angst between Theodora and Huck though.

DeleteThis sounds really good. I love a good treasure hunt. I agree, hopefully there isn't a bunch of romantic nonsense lol.
ReplyDeleteYea that's pretty much the only think I'm worried about.
DeleteOoh, this sounds good! I agree, I hope there isn't too much romance.
ReplyDeleteI wish they didn't feel the need to throw it in every plot. I don't mind it some, but not every book needs it.
DeleteWow, this is new to me, but I'll consider reading almost anything that deals with Vlad😁
ReplyDeleteI definitely concur. I used to be super obsessed with vampires. It's died down some but I still enjoy a good Vlad book from time to time.
DeleteThis does sound like a really cool historical! I will have to watch for it as well. Thanks so much for sharing ti! :)

ReplyDeleteThat's one of the fun things about reading right? Visiting lots of fun places.
DeleteThat cover is delicious! 👍✨
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteFingers crossed the romance doesn't detract from the good bits in the story -- I admit, I kind of wished she would go after her father on her own. But it sounds amazing! And a gorgeous cover to boot!
ReplyDeleteIt would be cool to see her do it alone. Hope it's done well.
DeleteIt's the romantic angst that would concern me about this one. I'll need to check out reviews before deciding as I like the idea of the ring and adventures!
ReplyDeleteI know, it worries me too.
DeleteSounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteI think so.
