Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
So the public has spoken - Cass is now a full-time contributor to Can't Wait Wednesday. That means each week you'll see two books here. Of course Cass is already lobbying for an increase in salary (at least he works for treats - and bandanas).
AND TO CELEBRATE THE PUPPY LOVE MONTH, APOLLO IS ALSO A SPECIAL GUEST THIS WEEK!
FROM GOODREADS: Second in a delightful romantic comedy series set around a bustling Miami Beach dog park
Lance Donovan agreed to dog sit only to help out his younger brother. Little does he know that an encounter with his ex-wife at the local dog park is going to turn his life upside down...
Carrie Burns has a successful business, a young son, and an energetic pup. She doesn't have time for much more in her busy schedule, but her friends say she needs to get back into the dating scene or she'll never find a new Mr. Right. Between her demanding job and 3-year-old Oliver, dating is starting to be another chore.
Carrie especially doesn't have time for her ex-husband, Lance Donovan. But when Lance meets Oliver, he's determined to connect with the son he didn't know he had, and the love he thought he'd lost.
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: Okay, so I wasn't as thrilled with the first one in this series as I wanted to be but it still had things I liked and enjoyed. I always figured I'd read the second one and then I saw this cover! This just goes to show a good dog cover can rope me in every time!
CASSIUS'S PICK:
SYNOPSIS: When a motorcycle club rolls into town and the leader opens a biker bar, it stirs up more than dust in Metamora.
The little canal town is known for its grist mill, antique shops, and bed and breakfasts, not for hosting a parade of noisy motorcycles. Cameron Cripps Hayman’s neighbors are up in arms about the Night Hounds Motorcycle Club and even start a petition to get the mayor to ban the new establishment. But the mayor says he doesn’t have the power to kick a business owner out and there’s nothing in the town statutes against opening a bar.
When the Night Hound’s leader is run off the road and left for dead, his wife comes to Cam and her Action Agency to track down the hit and run suspect. With her team down to two members, will they be able to solve the case like they’ve always done in the past? They’ll give it their best rip roaring try!
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: I know Mom really enjoys this series and when I was looking for books, I saw she had already pre-ordered it. So I think this is a pretty safe bet for a feature this week. I do like the dog on the cover, even if it looks like he's had too much alcohol which I know is bad for us pups!
APOLLO'S PICK:
SYNOPSIS: Dog-loving divorcée and amateur sleuth Lilly Echosby is not the only one who wants her new foster poodle. Some are willing to kill to have him . . .
Lilly's best pal Scarlett “Dixie” Jefferson has done it again! She’s convinced eccentric poodle-loving billionaire Archibald Lowry to sponsor a grand fundraiser for the Eastern Tennessee Poodle Rescue.
Tragically, it’s too late to rescue Lowry, who is murdered at the event. His pet poodle is now orphaned, so Dixie begs Lilly to foster the adorable pup. Of course, she already has a poodle—her beloved Aggie, named after Agatha Christie. Fortunately, Aggie seems to like the new addition to the family, whom Lilly renames Rex, after her second favorite mystery author, Rex Stout.

As desperate characters try to get their hands on the canine cutie, Lilly turns to Dixie’s dog training class to help her sort through a litter of suspects. Ultimately, she may have to unleash Rex as bait to collar the killer . . .

WHY APOLLO CAN'T WAIT: Seriously folks, I have no idea what I'm doing! I can't even read yet but Cass told me I had to participate. This is too much pressure so I'm going with this is purple, and Mom loves purple!
SO WHAT BOOKS CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK???
Purple and puppies - Apollo wins.
