First of all I want to apologize for not moderating or returning comments very quickly this past week. My Gpa has been in the hospital since the 5th and is now in rehab preparing to return home. Stupid Uncle is on a river in Louisiana (once again) so I've been handling most of the affairs. Hopefully it will slow down once he gets back home. I love my Gpa but he is the worst at saying he wants/needs to be at the hospital/rehab and then demanding to be sent home before he's actually ready to go. I was cutting deals with him just to get him to stay sometimes.
Apollo and Cassius also had a vet appointment this week - and my vet is still out. Cass has a sensitive stomach and I feel so badly when it acts up that I wanted him seen so we could get recommendation and ideas. Worthless! Basically I think we knew more than the vet did. Apollo did well with his shots though and he is 14 weeks and now weighs 26 pounds. Good news though! Our vet is back on a limited basis. Right now he is just seeing small dogs until he gets his prosthetic and is used to it, but they agreed to do puppy shots. Apollo just needs to slow down his growth for the next three weeks - just kidding.
We finally finished watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and although it was off to a rocky start, it finished pretty strongly. Needless to say I'm not upset that Season 4 has already been filmed. We also watched a horror movie (well, it was more of a thriller) called VFW. It's about this elderly vets who end up taking on a drug gang. It was super enjoyable. I'm still watching The Outsider on HBO and actually finding it pretty slow. Mr. Barb is counting the weeks until it is off. The Walking Dead starts back up this Sunday and I'm hoping they put that show out of its misery soon so I don't feel obligated to watch.
I need to finish three more books before the month is out. Riverdale: The Maple Murders is about 40% done and A Murderous Relation is about 12% done. I've not started Wither but hey, I'm optimistic - I can do it!
I actually got a few library books this week so I'm going to share them instead of the two review books I received. I'll just add them next week. Remember, this is from two different library systems and I can keep them close to 12 weeks. Will I get them all read? Probably not, but hey, I'll have fun trying!
So I'll leave you with some more thoughts from Cassius on this episode of....
STUPID S**T MY BROTHER DOES:
1. Remember how he was eating dirt? Well, he still does. But I've also noticed he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. Bottle caps, grass, paper, people's trash when we're walking, and dare I say, one of Mom's books! Seriously son, don't you know where some of that stuff has been?
2. He does flip flops. He will run so fast and he's in what Mom calls "the awkward stage." I'm pretty sure I never went through that stage but man, he gets going so fast sometimes that he gets tripped, flip flops and then keeps right on going. He looks like a darn slinky.
3. He's losing his teeth! Mom and Dad say they're baby teeth and he will get replacements. Won't bother me a bit if he doesn't.
4. He takes my balls. I forgot to add those to the list of sacred toys he better leave alone. I have close to 15 tennis balls of different colors (some even squeak which are my faves) and he needs to leave them ALL alone.
5. He sleeps beside me...sometimes...when I allow it. And sometimes it's okay.
STUPID THINGS MY PARENTS CALL MY BROTHER (aka nicknames):
1. The teethin' heathen
2. Puppyman (like he's some superhero or something)
3. Pollo Pollo
4. Satan (that's Mom)
5. Nosferatu (Mom again)
6. Skinny butt
Glad to hear your grandpa is on the mend. And my mother-in-law is the same way, she just doesn't want to admit she needs medical attention/care and is always insisting she's better when she's not quite there yet. Ah well, what can you do! Awesome that the dogs are also getting along, and wow, Apollo is growing fast!

Yea, he is the worst patient. The first day or so he wants to look into assisted living and gets everyone in the hospital hopping seeing what they can do to help and when they contact me for info, I always tell them wait another day or two because it will all be in vain. I do love him though!
Delete*dies laughing* Apollo flips?!?! OMG, I need to see that! And I can see Cass is still working on getting his zen when it comes to his little bro' Dark Corners of the Night -- SO GOOD. I am reading fabulous reviews of it, and I neeed it! And I *adore* the cover for Coyote Songs!
ReplyDeleteRemember the flips in kindergarten (well, I do). Where you put your head on the mat and then roll over. That's what he does. I can't wait to get to DCofN.
DeleteI hope your Gpa is feeling better. Wow, you did have a busy week! Hope you can rest a little this weekend. I'm really curious about The Pines, I keep seeing it everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI am anxious to start it. Hope it's good.
DeleteMy dad is like that when he needs to go to a doctor. He fell and broke his hip a few years ago and needed to go to rehab but after a couple of days he was saying he was done and going home and he went home. Stubborn men.
ReplyDeleteYes they are and since Gpa is 98, he's pretty set in his ways. He is also still pretty independent so that makes his stubbornness even worse.
DeleteSo many pretty covers: Pine, Ashlords, Coyote Songs, and Riverdale! 📚✨
ReplyDeleteSending good energies for your grandpa. 👍✨
Give the wupper puppers hugs from me. 🐾
Have a wonderful new week! 🌞
The pups say thanks for the hugs Auntie La La!
Delete💟💟💟
DeleteOh no I hope your Gpa is okay and makes a quick recovery! I'm with you on the Walking Dead. I just have no desire anymore for that show...
ReplyDeleteThat Riverdale book looks fun? I'd love to read a good Riverdale book! And When We Were Vikings I'll have to check out...
Flip flops haha! Ah, the young... :)
They are great mindless fun. And they are told in narrative, text, emails, etc and I find epistolary books such fun to read.
DeleteI hope your grampa is better now-sounds like a really stressful week. A vet you don't really like isn't ideal but I'm glad to hear that your boys are doing good!
ReplyDeleteHe is home and doing much better. The boys are great and said to tell Auntie Chuckles that they hope you get better weather soon!
Deleteoh that growth. I am glad our Lulu won't be bigger than the 15 pounds she is. I loved reading about his antics though. You have some great books there and I hope you will enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Yes he is growing like a weed!
DeleteI hope your grandpa continues to improve. It is a lot of work to make sure he has what he needs. Apollo is growing fast. Once he finishes losing his teeth, the biting shouldn't be quite so bad (I hope). You have some great books on your list and I hope you enjoy them all. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteDare I say it? The biting does seem to be getting better. Hope I didn't jinx things.
DeleteOh no! I'm sorry to hear about your Gpa! The rehab element is definitely important! I hope things work out there. We had a similar situation with my husbands great aunt. She was so stubborn and left early! Not a good idea... Wishing you a more relaxing week this week!
ReplyDeleteThey released him Saturday. He seems to be doing better which is good because I don't think he'd stay there anyway.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear about your gpa. I hope his rehab goes well.
ReplyDeleteHi puppies! My pupper had an upset stomach that required a hospital stay recently. It was terrifying, but she seems to have pulled out of it OK.
I'm going to be reading A Murderous Relation soon. I have a full March, but I'm going to try to squeeze it in soon. :)
How scary. I can honestly say we've never had to leave any of ours overnight. It's a good thing because I know us and one of us would have to stay there or at the very least be sleeping in the car outside the facility. Yes, we are neurotic.
DeleteI hope that everything has worked out with your gpa.
ReplyDeleteI love all the little extras from Cass about the pup - such as flipflops - so easy to visualise that gangly run where they can't help but go arse over teakettle.
Lynn :D
He seems to be doing ok. Yes, Apollo is definitely in his gangly stage. The dog is ALL legs right now.
