TTT - Book Hangovers

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish they  handed over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week we're talking about book hangovers.  I think we all know the feeling.  You've just finished reading a book and for whatever reading, you're finding it hard to get into a new one.  So let's take a closer look.

The Wow, What a party!  That was so much fun hangover!

I pretty much enjoyed all three of the first books so much it made it hard to move onto something else.

Such a great series but after reading book 10, it was hard to move on.  I loved every minute of reading this one.

Spending time with Jack and his neighborhood was such a delight that I just felt heartbroken when it all ended.

Who knew a book about a crow, a bloodhound and a zombie apocalypse could give me all the feels.  I was emotionally drained after reading this one - but in a good way!

This is probably the first science fiction read I fell in love with and it was hard to rebound from that.

The that was awful experience, I need to puke hangover!

Words...there are no words.

Not only did I have a hangover from this one, I felt like I was sure to catch the flu.

Again...words just can't express how hard it was to finish this, and then pick something else up!

This one really put a damper on my reading.

More like pure hell.

So there you have it.  What books gave you a book hangover?  And better yet, what are some of your favorite hangover remedies?

  1. I don't subscribe to the book hangover thing at all. As soon as I finish one, whether it was great or meh, I just move on to the next one and get reading again! I don't drink so I don't get real hangovers either.

This is probably not a great time for anyone reading The Stand with coronavirus doing the rounds!

    1. I rarely get them. And YES! All the coronavirus stuff did make The Stand seem more likely.

  3. I don't really get book hangovers, at least not so much that it stops me from moving on to the next book. There have definitely been some books that left me reeling and thinking about the book long after I've put it down. I couldn't come up with any off the top of my head, though, so I did a different topic this week. I haven't read any of your picks, but a number of them are on my TBR list.

    Happy TTT!

    1. I agree. I will occasionally read a book that really sticks with me. In fact, I think that happens to me more often than book hangovers.

  4. LOL. Book hangovers as a party. I guess some are kind of fun when you're wallowing in the end of a good book.

  5. I find just diving in to another book is the only way to get over a book, otherwise it consumes all my thoughts!!

  8. Oooh, several of these are on my TBR already! I'm not surprised to see The Stand made your bad hangover list. xD I'm a little surprised that The Hunger is on the list, though! What a shame. I was wanting to give that a try. I'm looking forward to Hollow Kingdom, though, as soon as my hold comes through. :3

    1. Sammie, so many people loved The Hunger. It just didn't work for me. I bet the chances are good that if you read it you'll love it.

  9. Haha, I loved how you broke it down into the different types of hangovers. Gotta agree with Little Heaven - what a stinker, lol.
