Can't Wait Wednesday (187)

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books.  It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

AUGUST  2019

FROM GOODREADS:  The Blair Witch Project meets Imaginary Girls in this story of sisterhood turned toxic, imaginary monsters brought to life, and secrets that won't stay buried.

Sixteen-year-old Skye is done playing the knight in shining armor for her insufferable younger sister, Deirdre. Moving across the country seems like the perfect chance to start over. Maybe even build a normal life.

In their isolated new neighborhood, Skye manages to fit in, but Deirdre withdraws from everyone, becoming fixated on the swampy woods behind their house and building monstrous sculptures out of sticks and bones.

Then Deirdre disappears.

And when something awful comes scratching at Skye’s window in the middle of the night, claiming she's the only one who can save Deirdre, Skye knows she will stop at nothing to bring her sister home.

WHY I CAN'T WAIT: I need to know what's scratching at Skye's door.  Come on, don't you want to know too???

WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK????

  7. WOW!! What a cover! Creepy, but stunning! It reminds me of the paintings of Georgia O'Keeffee, one of my favorite artists. (However, her images of this type of skull were not creepy, lol.)

Of course, the plot is creepy, as well. Well, hope you enjoy it!!
