Can't Wait Wednesday (214)

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books.  It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

SYNOPSIS:  Sam is about to propose to his girlfriend Libby, and his neighbours in Christmas Street all think they know the right way to do it. With their help - and sometimes hinderance - Sam gains a fiancee and the wedding planning begins.

Meanwhile, Sam's nine-year-old son Teddy and his friend Pari - with their constant companion Jack the street dog - are fascinated by the arrival of a mysterious new neighbour on the street who has rented the empty, run-down house. Their attempts to spy on her are thwarted by her staying indoors with the curtains drawn most of the time. But soon Christmas Street begins to work its magic and Millie is reluctantly drawn into street activities.

As Millie starts to relax into thinking she can have a different life, maybe even with Jasper, the local carpenter, someone turns up from her past to threaten that. But with all of the street looking out for her, Millie's Christmas will be filled with hope and promise.

WHY I CAN'T WAIT:  Many of you know I loved "A Dog Called Jack" when I read it earlier this year.  In fact, I've been waiting for this sequel since I finished it.  The release date above is for the UK, which is all I can find so far but it is one I'll definitely be ordering from Book Depository and I'm sure it will be a great December read for the holiday - if I can wait that long.

In case you need a reminder of how much I loved the first one, here's a link to my review:

WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK???

    1. So much but I know I won't be able to read a Christmas book until December so even once it arrives, I'll be waiting a tad longer.

  3. I'm such a sucker for cutesy Christmas romances but it's been years since I've actually read any. Thinking I should add this to my list for this upcoming season. :)

  4. At first I was worried because there isn't a dog on the cover, and then I read about Jack. This sounds super cute, and I'm loving the snow on the cover because were having a terrible heat wave right now!

    1. I do believe that Jack should be walking down a street with them. I mean, an abstract bird made the cover so why not Jack?

  13. There's a dog called Jack! I feel I should read this simply on that basis - can't believe there is Christmas in the title though - is that time already starting to loom.
