This week's topic is books I'd give different titles to. I honestly don't know how this one's going to go so who knows if we will actually hit 10 or not!
"Slow Ride"
"The Racist Pervert Gets a Dog"
OR
"This Dog Isn't in the Book"
"Beware the Pink Devil"
"Boring Cannibals on the Prairie"
"IT"
(oops that one's already taken!)
"Pure Hell"
"Poor Max"
"Oy With the Poodles Already"
So that's about all I can come up with. I'm sure I'll see some stellar examples while blog hopping today. Wish I could have came up with better.
**** So I looked at the wrong date so I guess I'm just giving you a preview of what to expect next week - oops!
I laughed out loud at "the Racist Pervert gets a dog" and "Pure hell"! You did better than I Barb, the only thing I've ever named with any success is our Maltese, Spike. And that's because I've watched too much Buffy lol
ReplyDeleteI think Spike is the perfect name. I love naming pets and really want two puppies named Barlow and Bowie. Mr. Barb doesn't like those names though.
DeleteI loved your version! I didn't do this topic as it looked too much like hard work but I wish I'd thought of doing something funny like this! I loved the Biloxi re-titling!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to think of a topic for next week's since I jumped the gun on this one. I look at Biloxi and honestly, if it wasn't for the dog, I would never have finished it.
DeleteLol, this is so funny! And once again you've managed to sneak in The Hunger🤣
ReplyDeleteEven though I didn't like them, it and Little Heaven sure have provided a lot of blog content.
DeleteThe Hunger looks so scary. And your twist was great!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Thanks Lydia. I actually wished it had been more scarier.
DeleteHa this made me laugh. Thanks for starting my day out on a good note.
ReplyDeleteYou're quite welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteThese are all great titles! I especially like Oy With the Poodles Already! Happy reading! 🙂
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Tuesday!
I knew any Gilmore Girl fan would definitely appreciate it.
Deletei enjoyed the post. great job. thanks for the chuckles
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
Glad you liked it!
Deleteoh man they should hire you to title books Barb! I love your titles much better! Especially "The Racist Pervert Gets a Dog" (gasp)
ReplyDeleteThanks Daniela. It was fun even if I had to think harder than normal.
Delete"Boring Cannibals on the Prairie" cracked me up. Also Slow Ride makes me think of the Foghat song lol. And Racist Pervert made me laugh too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!!
EXACTLY. I was singing that song all day when I composed this!
DeleteNice list. Some apt renamings =0)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura.
DeleteBoring Cannibals on the Prairie is definitely my pick. Nice work on these titles :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a much harder topic than I anticipated.
DeleteFun take on it. I can think of many more that could use new titles.
ReplyDeleteI may try to do a round 2 next week.
DeleteI'm laughing at your alternate title for The Hunger - I really was expecting more action in that one, too!
ReplyDeleteYes, I know people loved it but I was not one of them.
DeleteBwahahaha! Great twist on the theme - I love your "truthful titles" now I'll probably skip In the Valley of the Sun :P
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
But so many people loved that one. It just wasn't for me.
DeleteThis made me laugh so hard. Especially Pink Devil. OMG!
ReplyDeleteYes! Anyone who has ever read the book would totally get that title!
DeleteClearly you need to title all books, these sound so much more disturbing (and I don't do disturbing, so I need a warning) than the real titles imply.
ReplyDeleteYea, it was much easier to pick books I didn't like than the few here I did.
DeleteThis is so funny - particularly IT.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
That's all I could think when reading that book!
DeleteLOL! I love these!! You should make this a blog series!!
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun but man, these were hard to come up with!
Deletehahaha your updated Lauren Graham title is hilarious
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely weeds out the true Gilmore Girls fans.
DeleteDang that's a good warning for Biloxi. I would have been suckered in by that cover! (also, LOL @ The Hunger. And Little Heaven. And your alternate title for Lauren Graham's is perf)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them. Yea, I expected so much more from Biloxi. I didn't hate it but the MC did give off some creepy vibes.
DeleteYes! Poor poor Max. I was in pain from that scene for weeks. 😢
ReplyDeleteBoring Cannibals on the Prairie. 😂 Priceless. 😆
I will NEVER fully get over Max. It was so useless and I felt it didn't really need to be in the book.
