FROM GOODREADS: Who is Lottie Person?

MY THOUGHTS:
I'd heard a few good things about this on Booktube and was thrilled to see it at my local library recently so of course I grabbed it. Now, even after I've finished it, I'm still not sure what I read. Lottie is a fashion blogger whose life revolves around the latest styles, being popular and trying to find a friend who is as perfect as her. She just lost her boyfriend who is now dating her ex-intern, (whom she really doesn't remember) when she meets the girl she thinks is her perfect friend. This girl is beautiful and also has a fashion blog. Lottie has severe allergies (thus the Snotgirl nickname) and a new doctor puts her on experimental drugs. Early on, something happens and Lottie believes she has accidentally killed her new best friend and I'll be honest, I can't tell if she did or not. Yet even dead, this new girl is a better person than Lottie will ever be.

I know graphic novels are often the compilations of the several comic book issues so they may switch gears between issues. However, this one randomly switched gears throughout the entire book which made things extra confusing. Also, I didn't like Snotgirl. She does have really gorgeous green hair but that's about it. She insists on nicknaming everyone and I pretty much think her real nickname should be "bitchgirl" because she is mean, self-centered and superficial.

I might pick up the next volume if my library decides to get it just to see what happens to the perfect friend or perhaps to see what horrible things happen to Snotgirl. Personally I'm wishing for "Snotgirl Goes to Prison."

    1. I probably won't. The more time that lapses, I'm sure I'll forget about this one altogether.

    1. You win some and lose some. At least I wasn't out anything since I grabbed it from the library.

  3. Aw, bummer! I had never heard of it before seeing it on one of your previous posts. I was hoping it would turn out to be great. I don't think I would care for bitchgirl at all. :(

    1. Yea, even though I didn't like the book, I had fun writing the review. I've heard some people rave about it so I'm sure lots of people will enjoy it - just not me.
