Weekly Reads (04/06/18)

So not only do I have a hard time believing it's April already, but it's also the 6th.  I tell you, time is crazy!  It's been a pretty good week at The Farm except the weather is nuts and Mr. Barb has bronchitis/pneumonia.  At least he has plenty of sick leave so he's been able to rest all week.  We're supposed to get up to 4 inches of snow tonight and if we do, I might just scream.  However, there are people who are due to get worse so I guess I'll count my blessings.

Not a lot of new movie releases which have interested us but I did finish watching "Santa Clarita Diet" and loved it!  I'm already missing it and Netflix better not screw this up and not renew it.  We also started watching "The Terror" on AMC and while I can appreciate how well-made it is, it's still kind of slow and kind of reminds me of "The Hunger" on ice.  Mr. Barb has been gaming and is finally play the Metal Gear:Phantom Pain game I got him for Christmas.  He's been saving animals in the desert so that has been fun (although that is definitely not the main goal - he just puts them to sleep and air lifts them to his base.  That way they don't die.  It's the little things that are amusing me this week people!  We did watch a movie on Shudder called "Mayhem" which I enjoyed.

So I do hope to get some reading done this weekend.  I'm almost finished with "The Atrocities" and since I'm typing this on Thursday, and will probably finish it tonight, I'm not featuring it here.  Then I want to start on "Let Me Lie" and "Fiction Can Be Murder."

So what are your plans this weekend and upcoming week???

  1. I'm parked in front of the TV for the Commonwealth Games now so that'll keep me busy all week. Still feeling a bit too tired to do much else! Have a good weekend and best wishes to poor Mr Barb!

  6. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on The Atrocities! I'm not sure yet what I'll be reading this weekend, but I have a lot of choices, I guess it'll just depend on my mood.

  9. I watched the first episode of The Terror but it was so slow. I didn't bother with it this week. I am so done with winter. We are supposed to get some snow this weekend as well. I hope you enjoy both of these books. I have heard great things about Let Me Lie.
