Weekly Reads (04/27/18)

So last Friday I ended up taking Mr. Barb to the doctor again.  He received more meds and they took x-rays and we finally feel confident that he is on the mend.  On the down side, I had a sinus headache for 2 days (at least they weren't consecutive days) and felt like I wanted to pop my head off.

So with everyone under the weather (except the pups - they are good) it was a great weekend to binge watch Netflix and binge we did. Can I just say I fell in love with Season 1 of the "Lost in Space" reboot.  It was fun and exciting and wonderful and I found myself shedding a tear for a ROBOT!  What can I say, for some reason there appears to be no pets in space so the robot was as close as I could get.  I highly recommend this series and the only bad thing is waiting for more.

I also got lots of reading done last weekend and should get more this weekend as the NFL draft is on.  Mr. Barb is a HUGE draft fan and I'll follow along as I have my own reading marathon.  I did finish "Let Me Lie" this week (LOVED IT!) and am half through with "Dread Nation."  I'm not really sure what all I want to pick up next but here are some strong contenders.  I've barely just started "Outpost" so my opinion's out but I know Tammy @ Books Bones & Buffy loved it.  I also don't know if I can resist Smooshie much longer.

So I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead and that you all can work in some reading somewhere.  And just because I wanna share some puppy love, here's one of my favorite pictures of the pups hanging out with us this past 4th of July.

  3. With my insomnia back I admit I was up at 1am and started watching the Draft for something to do and found myself strangely gripped by it and I don't even know these guys being drafted! What a gorgeous pic of your boys! I think that is the best one I've seen...so cute! I'm really sorry about Mr Barb...he really has been suffering and I do hope he's on the mend.

    1. Thanks I want to get the picture enlarged and framed. It's rare to get them both posed together. The draft is oddly interesting. There was a player who at 4 years old had his hand amputated - last name is Griffith - and he has gone on to be a college standout and he was finally drafted. He gets to play with his twin brother again. It's such an awesome inspiration. I guess he was born with a birth defect and the pain was so bad in his hand that when he was 4, his mother caught him trying to cut his fingers off because he wanted the pain to stop. What an awesome young man he turned out to be!

  5. Oh my gosh. I hope you guys start feeling better soon!!

I'm glad you got a lot of reading done. I'm surprised I got as much done as I did. I spent too much time working after work this week it didn't leave much time for anything else. :(

That is an AWESOME pic of the pups! :)
