May 2018 Musts & Mights

So this is only about a week late but you know, better late than never.  I've got lots of exciting books I want to read this month so here's how things are stacking up!  Also, April was one of the first months where I actually got all 5 of my MUSTS read.  Surprise surprise.  Let's see if we can have a repeat performance.

MUSTS

MIGHTS

So Stormi and I are buddy reading "Meg" this month and boy do we hope we do better than with the last 2 month's picks.  I need to make time for "Pride and Prometheus" because I'm sure the library wants it back soon.  Also, you can see I've got quite a mixture of dog books, thrillers, mystery and fantasy - and even memoir!  Should be a fun month.

What are you planning this month???

  2. The Smoke Thieves is one of this month's "mights" for me as well. And wow, is that the new movie book cover for MEG? That is seriously cool.

    1. It must be because when I went to grab it from Kindle for the buddy read, it's the one they had and it says "updated" version.

  3. How does this buddy reading thing work? As an introvert, I'm so used to reading on my own, but it sounds like fun! I just saw the trailer for Meg. It looks to be a great summer film!

I had a few books from the library this month and kept rechecking them out. I never did get to them and now they're due. Sad life!

    1. Stormi and I do relaxed buddy reads each month. We pick a book and since we message each other pretty much daily, we comment and talk about it to each other. Then we pick the same day to do our feature. The one with Maria on Dread Nation was more formal. We tried to send each other thoughts and questions after so many chapters. It worked pretty well but we both had problems not reading ahead :) I can't tell you the amount of library books I've had to take back just to check out again at a later date - no restraint I tell ya!

  4. I'm happy to be back reading again and I'm ready for lots of horror this month! I'm reading a few expeditions gone wrong books which I'm pretty excited about. I'm hoping I like the Meg film more than the first half of the book! Second half of the book was better.

    1. I'm glad you got your reading mojo back too. I hope the Meg book is better than the last 2 we buddy read together.

  5. I don't what the heck I'm reading this month! Whatever catches my fancy, I suppose. Probably something scary and maybe another romance.

  6. I think I did a triple take when I saw the Samantha Fox book! I haven't heard of her since the early 90's. And I certainly had no idea she had a book. How interesting!

    1. It's not written brilliantly but it is a fun read so far. I became curious when I saw her partner had recently died and wanted to learn more about her.

  7. I can't believe you guys are reading Meg. I was hoping to finally read it this summer, too. I look forward to what you guys think!
