Okay so I'm running a tad late but hey, better late than never. I will lay the blame on the new pup - he's very time consuming. Anyway, I did want to get up a favorites post for 2019 so read on to see what made the list! Also, some of these may not have necessarily gotten 5/5 ratings but rather they are the ones that stand out. Also, there is no real order except for my very favorite, which I'll save to the end. You can click on the title for my review if you missed any.
What's Bred in the Bone - Who knew science fiction and dogs would be such a stellar hit? Well of course, me :) Can't wait for the next one in this series.
The All Soul's Trilogy - So glad Stormi convinced me to pick this series up. I totally became enamored with Diana and Matthew.
Magic Triumphs - Basically I could have included the entire Kate Daniels series. It's no secret how much I enjoyed them all.
The Remaking - Definitely one of my favorite horror books of the year. If you haven't read it yet and like horror, you should.
Slash - Another favorite horror read and it's no surprise it's from one of my favorite authors - Hunter Shea.
Violet - Hands down one of the best thrillers I've read all year.
The Puppy Who Knew Too Much - I found another cozy series to add to my favorites this year. I'm highly anticipating the next installment.
A Dog Called Jack - no surprise Jack made it to the list.
AND MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE....
Hollow Kingdom - I can't recommend this book enough!
So there you have it. Are any of these your faves as well???
I want to read so many of these books! I'm really far behind on the Kate Daniels series but the ones I have read were fantastic. I've seen Hollow Kingdom on quite a few favorites list so I'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye out for that one. Happy New Year! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased I knocked it out of the way this past year. DEFINITELY read Hollow Kingdom. I can't praise it enough.
DeleteSo mad at myself for having missed out on the Remaking! Now its part of my NetGalley cleanup challenge. This year I'm also going to make it a goal to read Hunter Shea for the first time!

I think you'll like The Remaking and I'm curious what Shea book you'll pick up first!
DeleteI think we need more dogs in science fiction!
ReplyDeleteYes! I agree.
DeleteI'll be reading Slash and Hollow Kingdom at some point this year when the mood takes me! I'm still in a non fiction kind of mood so I'm ploughing through a few until I feel like fiction again!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear what you think about both of them.
DeleteI love seeing Hollow Kingdom in your favorite spot! For me it was a neck and neck race between that and A Boy and His Dog. Very different books but they both made me laugh/cry😁
ReplyDeleteI will get to A Boy and His Dog this year. Just need to see where I can work it in. Hey, I consider the fact that dogs were in both of your contenders a plus!
DeleteI really want to read Hollow Kingdom! :D
ReplyDeleteYES! I am curious what you think.
DeleteI remember how much you loved Hollow Kingdom! Definitely adding to my TBR!
ReplyDeletePlease do. I want to see more people fall in love with S.T. and Dennis.
DeleteSuch a great bunch of books. I need to check out a few of these!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! And I hope you enjoy them.
DeleteYou really can't go wrong with Ilona Andrews. I love her books. I am glad to see Magic Triumphs made your list! And I really enjoyed the All Souls Trilogy when I read it too. I love these favorite lists--so many new books to try!
ReplyDeleteI love the year-end lists as well. But they can be bad for the TBRs.
DeleteYay for Hollow Kingdom! I still need to get a copy of The Remaking. I know thrillers are hit and miss with you, too, so I'm definitely going to pick up a copy of Violet.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a pleasant surprise. VERY messed up characters.
DeleteCurious about Hollow Kingdom. Will have to check that one out. Hope 2020 is full of amazing reads for you!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a unique but awesome book. I really hope you have a chance to get to it. I've not read anything negative about it.
DeleteHollow Kingdom and Violet are definitely on my wish list. I have git vouchers and I'm not afraid to spend them.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Your dog in glasses looks like our Lulu! I love everything Ilona Andrews. It's been a few years or so since I read All Souls but I enjoyed it. I just bought the audiobooks for a re-read. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
I have to make sure I have The Remaking, and Violet on my Goodreads TBR. I know I'm not supposed to be reading new books this year, but I might sneak Hollow Kingdom in for Halloween. 😁
ReplyDeleteI loved Slash so much! I gotta get to Hollow Kingdom soon!
