Vision in Silver Review - aka Anne Bishop rocks!

TITLE: Vision in Silver (The Others #3)
AUTHOR: Anne Bishop
PUBLISHER: Penguin Publishing Group
PUBLISHING DATE: March 3, 2015

FROM GOODREADS: The Others freed the  cassandra sangue  to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before—both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…

MY THOUGHTS:   I love this series so much and was thrilled to be given an advanced copy by the publisher. Every year, for the past three years, I eagerly anticipate the release of The Others book. I only wish they would come out faster.

I don't want to give away too much in case it would spoil anything, but I can say this book will not disappoint. All of my favorite characters were present, and the storyline was in-depth and action-packed. I love the relationships developing between all of the players, and grow to love Simon Wolfgard more and more each book. Although I still want a girlfriend for Henry Beargard!

Bishop has such an imagination and talent to be able to weave all sorts of characters together. There are weather ponies, elementals who control the oceans, lakes and seas, shifters in the form of all kinds of animals, cassandra sangue (blood prophets) vampires, and Tess, possibly the scariest of all. In this book, the humans are the enemy and their actions are placing them closer to extinction. I can't wait to see what Bishop has planned for the future.

If you haven't read this series, what is stopping you? This series combines fantasy, action, mystery and a minute amount of romance. And for those who are already fans, don't forget that in little over a week, the next, great installment can be yours! I regret that I can only give it 5 stars!

RATING: 5 PAWS

  1. I'm always in two minds about trying Anne Bishop's books as they have such mixed reviews. I like what you are saying about lots of action as slow books are really not my thing. Hmmm, might need to have a think about this series again...

  2. This series is the only thing if hers I have read. The rest seems extremely high fantasy. I consider this more urban fantasy. You can always try it and then quit it if it isn't for you.
