Can't Wait Wednesday (157)

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books.  It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

FROM GOODREADS: From the bestselling author of Earnest and An Unexpected Grace comes a novel about a woman, a dog, and the hope and love that can emerge from tragedy . . .

Two years ago, police officer Andrea Brady fell madly in love with a black-muzzled, slightly rumpled German shepherd who showed up at her house one misty autumn day. Now, with the brave and intuitive Justice as her expert K-9 drug sniffer, she's found an unbeatable partner. Then the unthinkable happens. A savage attack leaves a teenager dead and Andie trapped in every cop's worst nightmare. Placed on administrative leave, she's pursued by media and investigated by a deputy sheriff whose handling of the high-profile case could earn him a coveted promotion.

Haunted by self-doubt, Andie is in danger of losing everything--her career, her freedom, and the critically injured dog who's her soul mate. But as she finds kind allies in her Puget Sound island community, the road back becomes a journey of healing for both Andie and her canine companion. And Andie learns important lessons about justice--and about Justice--as she struggles to find the courage to forgive herself and reclaim the gift of her life . . .

WHY I CAN'T WAIT:  I read "An Unexpected Grace" a few years back and although I struggled with liking the MC, I loved the dog  I'm totally willing to give this author another shot and this one sounds like it could be really good.

WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK????

    1. The last one was okay but I recall not liking the MC very much. The dog was awesome thought and the writing style was fine so I have hope for this one.

    1. Such awesome dogs. Not too long ago there was a police officer in a neighboring town fighting to keep his dog when he retired. People started a fund for him to get an attorney but the city stopped their stupid fight to keep the dog from him and let him go with the guy. People donated tons of money for the legal funds and since he didn't need them, he used them to buy bullet proof canine vests.

    1. I just grabbed a war/dog book from the library today at lunch. It was a total impulse grab as when I was walking by the shelf I saw a dog on the spine. I'll feature it on my Stacking the Shelves so you can check it out - I don't remember the name right now.

  13. Can't blame you for giving the author another chance with that dog on the cover. My brother has a german shepherd and he is the biggest baby in the world (the dog, not the brother. Well...).

  16. I think this sounds like an amazing story. I am so attached to my dogs and I would imagine that it would be an even stronger attachment if I was able to work with them. Great premise!

  17. Awwwww.....look at that SWEET doggie face.... I would LOVE to have a dog with such an ADORABLE face! And this is coming from a horse person. Lol. But seriously, that is one cute, loving dog!! And the plot sounds SO very heartwarming, too!! German Sherpherds are supposed to be great dogs! But they can't hold a candle to Boxers, right? :) :)

Anyway, I really hope you enjoy this one, Barb!! I might take a shot at it myself!

Thanks for commenting on my own CWW post!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE PUPS, AND WOOF, WOOF TO THEM!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
