Weekly Reads (05/11/18)

Well summer has officially arrived at The Farm and for the most part, we've been enjoying it.  However, allergy season is in full bloom and my head is feeling the pressure.  Last Saturday was extremely busy but Sunday was pretty low-key and I'm happy to say I've finished both books which I wanted to get to.  That's always exciting.  Booker T also had a glowing vet report.  He went with dad and got his shots and his "girlfriend" gave him lots and lots of hugs and kisses.  She tried to convince my husband we should breed him, take a puppy and give Booker T to her.  She was kidding but Mr. Barb is not convinced she wouldn't steal him if given the chance.  Of course, Cass stayed with Mom while T cruised around town with Dad.

We did finally watch some decent movies.  I had heard very mixed things about "Winchester" but we watched it and you know what?  I loved it.  I think I was just in the mood for it which helped.  Very Gothic and creepy.  We also watched a bigfoot movie called "Primal Rage" which surprisingly wasn't that awful.  It weaved bigfoot and Native American lore together which was interesting and fun.  And finally we watched a horror movie called "Gahenna - Where Death Lives."  It was entertaining as well and while I don't know if I'd go as far recommending it but it wasn't bad.

So this weekend I need to try to weed the backyard flower garden some and get ready for planting and of course, see Gpa and Mom.  We also want to plant a few shrubs so we may go to Lowes and see what we can find. Best of all, I want to read!  There are the two books I'm into right now.

So what's up for your weekend???

  1. Jeez you're getting some spam today! Glad to hear that Booker T is in good health. I'm due for my regular check at the doctor but I don't want to go. Last time I came back with Aussie flu!

  4. I think you should breed BookerT and give one of the pups to me :) I'm glad you enjoyed Winchester House. I went it into expecting something else and left crushingly disappointed. But I'm a crab anyway. Have a great weekend.

  6. That first cover is creepy! I didn't want to look too closely at it, lol.

Summer in Texas just means one thing: too hot. I have to take the kids to the playground really early in the morning or it'll be unbearable.

    1. I know most didn't like it but maybe because my expectations weren't that high I found it enjoyable.

  10. Ha that's funny about Booker's vet visit. Sounds like has a real fan there. Don't let it go to your head buddy ha ha :)

Samantha Fox? No way! I remember her lol. Primal Rage sounds fun I love the idea of Bigfoot/ Native american linkage.

    1. Too late about going to his head. Primal Rage was fun and you could feature it on movies that suck. Even though I enjoyed it, I would kind of consider it a B-movie (with a budget at least).

    1. That's hubby time and we enjoy doing it. Since we don't go out much, it's our entertainment. Well, that and the pups because they are always entertaining!
