So this week we are looking at books on my Fall TBR. I love making TBR lists because I love looking at all the pretty covers and basically, I'm a list sort of gal. HOWEVER, I don't usually strictly follow the lists so some of these may get read and some won't. Oh well, best intentions and all that! On to the books!
And since it's Fall, don't be surprised to see lots of creepy, spooky reads! Also, I'm adding a few key words and a link to Goodreads so you'll know if you want to check any of these out.
The Chrysalis - Creepy basement makes owner do weird things.
Toil & Trouble - Witches
The Nightmarchers - ancient warrior island ghosts
Unexplained - True unexplained spooky stuff
Sawkill Girls - Insidious monster legend and girls (imagine that)
Not Even Bones - Black market body parts
The Good Demon - True Detective meets The Exorcist
Voyage of the Dogs - Space dogs called "barkonauts"
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle - Groundhog Day murders
Life on the Leash - Woman who walks dog
So there you have it. What made your list this week?
And oh boy, I bet my TBR grows by leaps and bounds with this topic!
I've got a mixture of horror and SF on my list with a bit of mystery, apocalypse and alternate history! I love the cover of Voyage of the Dogs-so cute! A few nice creepy covers in your haul as well!
ReplyDeleteIt's sounds like such a cute book. Who can pass up barkonauts?
DeleteSo much goodness barb! Life on the Leash sounds cute! And I am loving the cover of Voyage of the Dogs <3 I've just discovered The Good Demon and Not even Bones so I am crossing fingers they're good!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. I have read a few good reviews about The Good Demon.
DeleteEvelyn Hardcasle made my list, too! It sounds like it will be a great read!
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's getting really good reviews.
DeleteI'm very curious about The Night Marchers, I hope you read and review it. I am the same, I have every intention of reading my list, but hey, when mood strikes you have to be able to veer off course!
ReplyDeleteI have it slated for October. But then again, I have A LOT slated for October.
DeleteSawkill Girls is on my TBR! I got an ARC of it a while back and should really get a move on, to be honest. I've seen this book a lot in posts today, which is motivating me to pick it up very soon, haha.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll love all these! Happy reading!
Here's my TTT should you be interested. :)

You lucky thing. What an awesome arc to have. And yes, it seems like a bunch of people want to read that one.
DeleteThat cover for Voyage of the Dogs is so stinking cute!!!! How do you find these book? I hope you enjoy the 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I really liked it even though I was thoroughly confused half the time. I still love that cover of Toil and Trouble. I should just get it to sit on my Shelves at Halloween. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI end up browsing Amazon quite a bit :)
DeleteI am SO excited for The Nightmarchers and am really going to have to order Unexplained from The Book Depository. I really wish it was being published in the US too! Happy reading, Barb!
ReplyDeleteI will have to get it from there too. I hate it when that happens.
DeleteI have three of those books on your list. :)
ReplyDeleteCool!
DeleteOh 7 Deaths is so good (we have half a death less in the UK haha). I really need a few more atmospheric reads on my seasonal TBR.
ReplyDeleteYea I totally don't get the different titles.
DeleteI have Toil & Trouble and Not Even Bones on my October TBR. Hoping they get me in the right mood for Halloween. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your thoughts.
DeleteTen great titles on your list! I'm intrigued by The Chrysalis, Voyage of the Dogs, and The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lark. Hope I can make time for them all.
DeleteI hope you love them! I’m on the fence about reading Toil & Trouble. I’ll have to look for your review.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It's a library book. I wasn't sold enough to buy a copy.
DeleteHopefully, I can fit a scary book or two in this fall. I am trying hard not to add too many new books to the pile right now.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it. I wish I had your willpower!
DeleteAnd now I'm going to have to add half your books to my ever growing TBR (or at least my wishlist on Amazon to keep in mind for the future.)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. - Katie
Glad I could help Katie :)
DeleteMost of these look a bit too creepy for my taste, but The 7 1/2 Deaths one looks really good!
ReplyDeleteIt's getting great reviews.
DeleteI just finished up The Chrysalis, it was a little different than I expected, but I enjoyed it! Also can't wait to start Voyage of the Dogs, it looks perfect for some light reading!
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
Glad to hear you enjoyed The Chrysalis. Gotta add a few light things in this time of year :)
DeleteGreat list! If I were into thrillers this tag line (The Good Demon - True Detective meets The Exorcist) would have gotten me to read this book :D
ReplyDeleteIt s a heck of a tagline!
DeleteYou've got some great books on your TBR. I can't wait to read Not Even Bones.
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Hope we both enjoy it.
DeleteWhat a great list. I have a copy of the Evelyn Hardcastle book but just need to find the time to squeeze it in. I love the cover for Voyage of the Dogs.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Yep, squeezing it in is the hard part :)
DeleteGreat list of reads! I just finished an awesome thriller book titled Civil Terror: Gridlock. It’s written by J. Luke Bennecke (http://www.jlukebennecke.com/ ), it has a looming technological aspect that feels like it is our future just around the corner, and I just could not put it down. It is face paced and keeps you engaged the whole time. Jake is a great and realistic protagonist and I found myself rooting for him as things got intense. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to be gripped from start to finish!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into it.
DeleteInteresting list bc I'm not familiar with any of them! Some look super cute. Barkonauts! LOL!
