Stacking the Shelves (34)

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.

I have a few additions to share this week.  Wednesday was not a good day and since I had to do a dog food run (those pups gotta eat!) I indulged in 2 impulse buys.

Following Atticus: Tom Ryan -  I have seen this book for a while and bringing this little dog home made me happy.
Down the Rabbit Hole: J.D.Robb - Even though it was mass market, it was new and it was cheap so it jumped in the cart as well.

From Netgalley I received the following:

The Borden Murders Possession Mind of the Pheonix Sleeping Giants

The Borden Murders: Sarah Miller - This feeds right into my current fascination with Lizzie Border so I grabbed it.  Random House Children's is releasing this January 12, 2015.
Possession (The Dark Rituals #2): Catrina Burgess - This comes out October 15, 2015 from Full Fathom Five.
Mind of the Pheonix: Jamie McLachlan - Penner Publishing is releasing this September 28, 2015.
Sleeping Giants (Themis Files #1): Sylvain Neuvel - I have heard some great things about this it's being described as World War Z meets The Martian.  Del Ray is releasing this in April 2016.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for their addition to this week's stack.  What did you add this week?  Do you think any of these look or sound good?  Leave me a comment so I can check out your hauls!

  2. Down the Rabbit Hole: J.D.Robb looks awesome. I'm on the fence about getting Possession. I'm not sure I really liked Colina all that much in the first book, oh, but the story was soo good. So torn.

    Great haul!

  6. Looks like you did pretty well off Netgalley! I stopped looking there as I was never eligible for the books I wanted! Probably a good thing for the tbr...! Enjoy your books!

  9. Very nice haul, indeed!! I'm interested in "Down the Rabbit Hole", "Mind of the Phoenix", and "Sleeping Giants". I think I might start with "Sleeping Giants" first, as I haven't read any SF in quite a while, and I LOVE that genre!

Thanks for sharing, and for commenting on my own STS post!! : )

  12. I'll be interested to hear what you think once you read Finding Atticus. I was going to read it - but my sis really disliked it. (I can't remember why know... I think she was frustrated with some of the things the owner did with the dog.) Anyway, we have pretty similar taste in books, so I figured I'd pass on that one. (But, then, I'm weird - a lot of hugely popular dog books are not my fave reads!)
