Stacking the Shelves (35)

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.

Well, I would like to say things went better this week, but due to a whole lot of crap still stressing me out, I did buy 2 more physical books...plus I went to the library...plus I visited Netgalley.  You get the picture so here we go!

Physical copies:

Actually I bought the bind-up of The Christmas Dog, The Christmas Cat and The Christmas Pony by Melody Carlson.  It was a total impulse buy, what can I say?

Emory's Gift: W. Bruce Cameron.  I love Cameron's books so why not add this one?

I had a book on reserve at the library and even though it was a rush stop, I couldn't just leave with one.  Basically unless there is a hold on one of these, I can renew them and keep them for up to 9 weeks so at least I don't feel rushed.

Harley Quinn Longmire Greedy Bones Boneshaker

Harley Quinn Vol 1. Hot in the City - I love Harley Quinn probably more than I have ever loved Batman so when I saw this popping up, I quickly requested it from the library.  This is book which caused the whole trip!
The Cold Dish (Longmire #1): Craig Johnson - I love the Netflix series and even though this isn't my normal read, it's a mystery series which I do enjoy so hey, why not give it a try.
Greedy Bones (Sarah Booth Delaney #9): Carolyn Haines - I know this is a series and I looked in one of the books and this one was at the top of the list, but I just discovered this is #9!!!!!  Who starts a list at the front of the book backwards???? This will go back unread.
Boneshaker (The Clockwork Century #1): Cherie Priest - I love Priest's writing and thought I would see if this series interests me.

From Netgalley I received:

Out of the Blues The Golem of Paris Straight by the Rules Dear Clementina
When Bunnies go Bad
The Singing Bone
Ashley Bell Paper Dolls

I am really thrilled to get Ashley Bell because I like Dean Koontz's writing and I started Clementina last night and it is soooooo cute.  Hopefully you can click on the pic to go to the Goodreads description.

So what did you haul this week?  Leave me a link so I can check out your stack!

  4. As a kid I was never out of my local library but for the kind of books I read, our library has no point. I've read every book in the entire horror section and the newest release in it is Joe Hill 'Heart Shaped Box'. There are NO zombie novels. The most up to date urban fantasy books are book 2 in the Sookie Stackhouse series and book 8 in Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series. If you want to order in a book, it costs between 2 and 3 pounds per book. It works out better to buy them chap off Amazon or wait a few months and grab them in a charity shop! How I wish we had a decent library!!!

    1. My local library is pretty great, but I go through periods of using it a lot and not using it very much. They have been pretty awesome about ordering books I request for their circulation.
