Top 10 Tuesday - Auto-Buy Authors

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.  This week we are focusing on auto-buy authors.  While I try to snag a lot of my books from the library, there are still authors which I consider auto-buy.  I am dividing this Top 10 in Auto-Buy Authors, and Authors I will read what they publish no matter what!

AUTO-BUY AUTHORS:

1.  Stephen King.  No matter what he writes, I will inevitably purchase what he releases the same week it comes out.  The only exception is when he releases a book in November/December, my husband will get it for my for Christmas and then I will devour over Christmas vacation - sort of like my own twisted Christmas tradition.

2.  Joe Hill.  What can I say, I am growing to love him as much as his father.  He just doesn't seem to produce as much as Dad, so I never seem to be able to get enough of him.

3.  W. Bruce Cameron.  Love him!

AUTHORS I READ NO MATTER WHAT THEY PUBLISH!

4.  Kelley Armstrong.  I love all of her series.  Seems like her writing only gets better and better.  I have to admit I still miss Clay and Elena, and hate how sy-fy did to that series.

5.  Patricia Briggs.  Great urban fantasy author.  Can't wait to see what she has in store for Mercy Thompson next!

6.  Charlaine Harris.  Although the Sookie Stackhouse books eventually drove me mad, I love her new Midnight, Texas series as well as her cozy mysteries, so she will always make the cut.

7.  Lucy Dillon.  I love Dillon's world building and her zany casts of characters.  She weaves dogs into her stories so beautifully, I only wish she wrote faster!

8.  Cherie Priest.  Because I need this immediately.
9.  Yasmine Galenorn.  Another urban fantasy favorite.

10.  Chloe Neill.  I guess a lot of the authors I definitely read seem to be urban fantasy writers.  I love the Chicagoland Vampires series and The Veil series seems promising as well.

What made you list this week?

  1. I have to admit that I haven't read many of these authors. My sister is really into Stephen King though and is trying to encourage me to read more of his books. Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier.
