Stacking the Shelves (75)

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.  Clicking on the book should take you to the Goodreads page.

First of all let's start out with this.  I didn't plan to buy this and it was a complete impulse buy.  I was soooo tired of all the back to school shoppers at Walmart when I went to get some groceries and pet supplies this week that I ended up putting it in the cart even though NONE of the THREE displays had a price tag associated with any of the books.  And don't even get me started with the $29.99 regular price - that's a rant and theory all of it's own.  But anyway, when I checked out, it rang up as $14.99 so I was rather pleased.  I don't LIVE for Harry Potter like a lot of people, but I really enjoy the series and am glad I own this one now.

 The Cursed Child

I managed to grab a few books on sale or for free this week for my Kindle.  I paid less than $10.00 for all 4 - I think the last 2 shown were free.

Fury Rising The Girls Monstrum The Night Girl

I also received the following for review:

Fear the Drowning Deep Black Flowers White Lies House 23
The Elusive Elixer What Lie Beyond the Stars The Breedling

Also, I have failed to showcase what I've snagged recently from the Penguin First to Read progam, so here they are:

The Reader The Real Liddy James The Couple Next Door

So all in all, not a bad haul. Too bad I can't quit my day job! What did you add this week?  Bet I see a lot of the Harry Potter book.

  1. The Elusive Elixir and Black Flowers, White Lies both sound interesting, and I like their covers. I don't know if I'm going to read the Cursed Child though. I mean, I loved the HP as much as the next person, but I think I'm kind of ok with it just ending where it ended in the original series.

  2. I'm hoping to get started on the Harry Potter book today in between rowing heats and other stuff. With it being a screenplay it should be easy to follow with TV in the background. I do need to get some reading done this week!

  6. I wouldn't consider myself a Potterhead either, but since I enjoyed the books growing up, at some point I'll probably have to pick up a copy of Cursed Child too1
