Poor Poor Jughead...

TITLE: Jughead: The Hunger Issues 1 and 2
AUTHORS: Frank Tieri, Pat Kennedy, Tim Kennedy, Joe Eisma
PUBLISHER: Archie Comics Publications
PUBLISHING DATE: October/December 2017

FROM GOODREADS: Issue 1: Jughead Jones is a werewolf, and Reggie Mantle has fallen victim to Jughead's monstrous ways. Now Betty Cooper: Werewolf Hunter along with Archie Andrews are hot on the trail of Jughead.                                                                                                                                                                                                            Issue 2: As Jughead's life as a fugitive grows deadlier, Betty and Archie close in -- and they're not alone. Betty's werewolf hunter relatives' ruthlessness may spell the end for good ol' Jug!
MY THOUGHTS:  I have to admit that I'm pretty much a sucker for all things dark Riverdale.  I can't explain it, it pretty much just a guilty pleasure.  I mean come on, my high school never had such drama.  Nothing like teens living adult lives.

So when I saw this series on Hoopla, it was  no brainer to pick up some the issues to read through on some down time between some of the novels I have slated.  I really like the artwork which can best be described as dark and moody.  And since these are single issues, I can't really say much without giving a lot away but I will say my poor Jughead is a werewolf on the run and stupid Betty and her back hills cousin are werewolf hunters who are taking Archie along for the ride.

RATING: 3 PAWS (furry werewolf paws too!)

    1. Not one bit. I like the dark take on all of these old favorites though.
