Can't Wait Wednesday (146)

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books.  It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

FROM GOODREADS: A misfit crew race across the galaxy to prevent the genocide of magical creatures, in this unique science fiction debut.

Having magical powers makes you less than human, a resource to be exploited. Half-unicorn Gary Cobalt is sick of slavery, captivity, and his horn being ground down to power faster-than-light travel. When he's finally free, all he wants is to run away in his ancestors' stone ship. Instead, Captain Jenny Perata steals the ship out from under him, so she can make an urgent delivery. But Jenny held him captive for a decade, and then Gary murdered her best friend... who was also the wife of her co-pilot, Cowboy Jim. What could possibly go right?

WHY I CAN'T WAIT:  Since I signed up for the Swords and Stars Challenge this year, I've been on the lookout for some science fiction which might interest me.  I do like my unique books (aka - odd) and this fits that bill.  Also, who can resist a tagline of "FIND THE UNICORN, SAVE THE PLANET?"

What book can't you wait for this week????

  27. OH.MY.GOSH. Barb!!! This is truly AMAZING!!! Yeah, "odd", "weird", and "kooky" are right up my alley!! LOVE this one!! Mr. Spock might mutter, "Illogical" to himself, but heck, I know Capt. Kirk would really enjoy reading this! As for Dr. McCoy, he would think it's HILARIOUS!! So, hey, if MY CREW has such INTENSE reactions, what the heck can this little ol' Terran do but GO FOR IT?!

So, THANK YOU for putting this book on my Intergalactic Cosmic Ray Radar!! I'm beaming this one up just as soon as Scotty can get the coordinates!!

Thanks as well for swinging by my planet and commenting on my CWW post!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE BOYS, AND WOOF, WOOF TO THEM!!!! Live long and prosper, too!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
