Stacking the Shelves (147)/Sunday Post - The Puppy Edition

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews. And it now has a new co-host where individuals can link up as well - Marlene from Reading Reality.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.  I'm also now linking up with the Sunday Post which is hosted by Kimberly@Caffeinated Book Reviewer

So I had to go to the library this week and pick up a hold - Truly Devious #StormiMadeMeDoIt.  While I was there, I just HAD to pick up some puppy books.  After all, since I'm hosting the "They Call It Puppy Love Challenge" I have an excuse right?  So I grabbed  "My Boy Ben,"  "Doggist Puppies," and "The Love of a Lab" which has an awesome book plate in the front where someone donated it to my library in the name of their dog.  How awesome is that and why haven't I thought of that?  Plus it's been a crap week and Chris over at RuffDayReviews and I were exchanging comments and she mentioned a puppy bubble and I realized that's the greatest idea ever - when life sucks, insulate yourself in a puppy bubble!

I grabbed a couple of freebies from Amazon.  I couldn't resist "Paws for a Kiss."  "Diary of an Alligator Queen" had such a unique title, even if it is about vampires and "Devil's Grin" just sounded interesting.

Finally I received a few review copies.  I was thrilled to receive "Glimpse" as I really like the synopsis.  "The Graveyard Visible" has an awesome cover and "Bad Man" and "Baby Teeth" are thrillers which are getting some hype (hope I don't get burned).

So what did you add to your shelves this week????

And here's a picture of what I imagine a stress-reliever pup bubble would be like!

  5. Hope you like Truly Devious! I have listened to The Devil's Grin and it was okay, I have more of that series that I need to get too. I want Bad Man but don't want to get burned as it seems like when I think it sounds good it isn't. :(

  11. I think puppy bubbles would be perfect for life right now. Or in general like all the time everytime. I hope they make all things better after a shitty week! This is also the perfect post because my sister and I just spent a good 10 minutes stressing trying to find Murphy, one of our dogs, searching high and low, only to walk back into a room and see him sitting somewhere -- we'd searched and couldn't find him -- like he'd always been there and we're nuts. Honestly *goes into stress puppy bubble*

    1. When we were married, that happened with our first pup. We lost him in a 4 room apartment! We found out later he had a hiding place under the bed.

  14. Paws for a Kiss is a great title. :-) I think you have a very legitimate reason for bringing more books into your home. You need books for your own challenge, after all. I hope you enjoy all your new books, and have a great week, Barb.

  24. I could use a puppy bubble! At least, I have 3 dogs to pet always around me. Lots of new books this week! I have a widget for Baby Teeth but am trying hard to say no to review books so I can get to some of my backlog. I hope you enjoy all of these!

  25. I still need to finish Truly Devious. I got about 20% into my arc before getting distracted and putting it to the side. Sorry your week was crap. Hopefully the puppy bubble helps. Happy reading!
Also, I was heading over here when I saw your comment. Lol. I loved Happy Death Day. It is total popcorn, but I loved it. My husband was "working" on the computer while I was watching it and thought it was alright...(which I took to mean he didn't want to admit it was as good as it was).
