TTT - Best Books I Read in 2016!

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.  Today I'm sharing my top 10 reads of 2016 (in no particular order because that would be like asking a parent to chose a favorite child).

You should definitely start this series before the next book is released.

I hate to think how many lists I've included this series on over the past few years.

My first Sniegoski book but definitely not my last.

Beautiful and haunting and horrific - so many adjectives apply!

My love for this series just grows and grows.

If you haven't read it what are you waiting for!!!!!!

Another new series I fell in love with in 2016.

I'll never look at a spider the same way again.

I definitely fell in love with Seanan McGuire's writing this year.

I have so much love for this book.

I probably could have added a few more but all of these were 5 paw reads for me this year.  What made your list?

  1. A few of these ended up on my tbr thanks to you-The Hatching, Suicide Motor Club, and The Demonists. I am strangely intrigued by those Repo books but I don't see ebook copies available which is a pity!

  2. I'm so glad to see The Suicide Motor Club on here, which was my FAVORITE book of the year. Also good to see the Secret Life of Souls. It nearly made my list, but I had to cut it off somewhere, so... great list, here's to hoping 2017 is just as amazing!

  4. The Hatching made my list too! A lot of the other ones you have on here I still need to read. I really want to try that Anne Bishop series.

  5. I liked The Invisible Library a LOT, and Every heart A Doorway (love that concept) I need to get to as well.

  7. I love how varied your list is. I've read a few of these, and I gotta agree with your comment about The Secret Life of Souls. Also, it appears I really need to get to Seanan McGuire's novellas soon!

  9. I've still got to read "Repo Madness"! I'm glad to see you enjoyed it enough to put it on your best-of list. And I'm so excited to continue The Others series! My winter to-read list is going to be made up of ARCs and series I need to catch up on -- and "Murder of Crows" will definitely get priority.

  10. Yes to The Secret Life of Souls! I've seen Every Heart a Doorway on several lists. I need to give that one a read. Every year I say I'm going to start The Others series! I need to finally do that. Great list!

  11. Every Heart a Doorway has been on my list for quite some time. Whenever I see someone recommend it, it gets bumped up that much higher. Besides, I heard there is an on-page asexual character, and I'm 100% here for that. Great list!

  12. Wait, Every Heart a Doorway is part of a series? I was under the impression it was a standalone and that was part of the reason I didn't bother to read it. I really want to try that Anne Bishop series though! It sounds so good.
