Stacking the Shelves (148)/Sunday Post

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews. And it now has a new co-host where individuals can link up as well - Marlene from Reading Reality.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.  I'm also now linking up with the Sunday Post which is hosted by Kimberly@Caffeinated Book Reviewer

So first up let's look at the books I grabbed from Amazon.  I had to buy "Dog Rough" when I stumbled upon it (it's a fairly new release).  "Celebrity Chef Zombie Apocalypse" and "The Outsiders" were both free grabs.  And finally, told you I didn't think I'd be able to hold out on "The Belles" for very long.  And can I just say "Dog Rough" has one of the best dog covers ever!

And then of course I got a few books for review.  "In the Vines" is a thriller that doesn't release until this summer.  Hope the hype DOES NOT start building because that may mean the kiss of death for me.  "Devil Shark" sounds pretty interesting and come on, sharks.  It releases in June and nothing screams summer to me like a good shark book or movie.   "White is the Coldest Color" is another thriller (did I mention how I think 2018 is the year of the thriller?) and "The Uninvited Corpse" is a new cozy.

So what books did you add to your shelves this week????

  2. I added Devil Sharks as well. It's by the same author of last year's Shark Island, which I loved!

  6. I've heard good things about The Belles, I hope you get to read and review it. In the Vines sounds good, just stay away from reviews if you can so it doesn't get spoiled!

  8. At first I thought The Outsiders so the one from SE Hinton but upon a closer look it obviously isn't lol. It has a Stranger Things vibe to it. I also love the Dog Rough cover. so cute.

    1. I don't know if it's a sequel or just by the same author. I must figure that out.

  11. I thought the Belles was very interesting - much more so than I'd expected. It still has an element of lots of dresses and descriptions of looks but there is an under current of intrigue. I'm keen to see where the second book goes.

    1. You most likely read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton about a group of poor kids and the rich snobby jerks they get into a brawl with.

    2. Yes, gotta have at least ONE dog book (or bird).

  28. I've heard so much about the Belles, but I'm hesitant. The beauty concept just doesn't appeal to me. That's part of the reason I could never get through the Uglies series, actually. But I love the pink map inside, so I may have to but it just for that. ;)

    Thanks for visiting Shell's Stories!

  30. That Dog Rough cover is amusing. Is he drinking wine? Water? Vodka? I'm guessing straight up vodka with those shades of his.

    1. I would think vodka too. He doesn't look much like a white wine kind of dog :)
