Stacking the Shelves (61) Plus a Tale from Booker T

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.  Clicking on the book should take you to the Goodreads page.

I obtained quite a few titles this week and some of them I am super excited about.  First up, the books I bought:

Borderline The Dog Walker The Luckiest Girl Alive

I saw several good reviews for "Borderline" and have been really wanting to try some new urban fantasy authors so I grabbed this for my Kindle. "The Dog Walker" is sort of a supernatural mystery/horror with a dog, and since Booker T isn't forgiving me for the cat book I featured om Waiting on Wednesday, I had to grab this when I saw it for free. "The Luckiest Girl Alive" was a Walmart impulse buy because sometimes you just want to add a physical book to your cart.

Next up are a few galleys I was provided for review:

Scarecrow's Dream Better Get to Livin' Everbound The Goodbye Year

Thanks to Netgalley, BookSparks, and the publishers!

 And finally..........

NOTE FROM BOOKER T: Now, I know mommy's heart belongs to me and Cassius, but I haven't quite forgiven her for this book yet.  Now here's the whole story.  When she did her W.O.W. post Tuesday, and realized this book was to be released soon, she contacted the publisher and requested a copy on the whim, never thinking she would get one.  Now I can almost forgive her because the first one in the series "Lawyer for the Dog" featured Sherman, a cute little dog on the cover, but don't tell her yet because I am sure I can guilt a new toy out of it this weekend.  She had no idea UPS would deliver this to her 2 days after requesting it, and while she was surprised Macmillan actually sent her one, boy did it ruin my day.

See, the day before, Cassius and I caught our first cat...and I swear with my puppy paws, it was the cat on this cover!  Mom came home for lunch to let us out and heard a big commotion in our back yard.  She ran out and we had this cat cornered beneath the picnic table.  It was hissing and even swatted at my nose, but missed.  Mom yelled at us to go inside, but we wouldn't (come on now, it was a cat!) and she basically had to drag us in muttering something about us losing an eye - my eyes are fine and so are Cassius'.  Fast forward to the very next day and this book arrived.  The friggin' cat hired a lawyer???? Please.  Now Dad assured me and Cassius that the cat has no case as it was trespassing to begin with and it was never actually harmed.  But until Dad explained that, I have to admit I was kind of worried I might lose all my toys and treats.

So anyway, what did you add to your shelves this week and should I just go ahead and forgive Mommy?

  1. I'm with you, Booker T...I HATE cats! They are mean and rude and wander about your garden without permission killing birds and leaving poo everywhere. Ugh! I feel your pain about mommy buying a cat book! With any luck you might get to use a cat tail for a toothpick this week!

  6. Ever Bound and Scarecrow's Dream look good! And the cat may have a case if there was no fence and "No Trespassing" sign :)

    1. Privacy fence and No Trepsssing sign so Booker T thinks he has the case won :)
