Weekly Reads (09/07/18)

So September has arrived in full force.  And we are having close to 100 degree temps. What is up with that?

So Booker T is doing great and wants me to thank all of his fans and friends for all the kind thoughts and prayers.  Between you and me, I don't know if he even knows he had surgery.  His AWESOME vet did the procedure so quickly and then us take him home to recover so he was really only there 1 1/2 hours.  He hasn't bothered his stitches once for which I am grateful.  Like I said, I think he's oblivious.

We watched a decent movie last weekend.  "The Summer of '84."  It was a thriller and had a bunch of kids trying to figure out a serial killer in their neighborhood.  Had strong "Stranger Things" and "IT" vibes.  Speaking of King, "Castle Rock" finishes up this week.  I hope they cram a whole lot of answers into that last hour because I'm super confused.

I honestly haven't been reading a lot this week.  A tad here and there. It's supposed to rain most of the weekend and I hope it a lazy drizzle and not a downpour but either way I plan on staying inside with movies, football and books.  I think I can finish "Giant Days" tonight and will then concentrate on the short story collection and probably start "The Moor."

Finally, I started an Instagram account.  It's kind of a "blogstagram" because it focuses on, yep you guessed it, books and dogs!  Feel free to follow me and let me know if any of you have accounts I need to look up as well.  I'm still a newbie at it but I'm trying.  Here's a LINK.

So what are your plans for this weekend and upcoming week???

  3. Glad your boy has done so well - i'm sure we over worry and feel it much more than they do. The Moor - I fancy the look of that one - look forward to your review.

    1. I am about 30% into The Moor. The only thing is the cover reminds me of The Hunger, and we all know how I felt about that.

  5. Good to know Booker T is recovering well! Our dogs are fixed and they took to recovery well afterwards too, though I think they said it is easier for puppies.

  6. Great to hear Booker T is doing so well...such a relief for you and Mr Barb! I'm not on Instagram so sadly I won't see your new account! I just don't have time for any more stuff online! I think I've watched too many confusing series on TV as it is ie Twin Peaks back in the day...so I think I might give Castle Rock a miss!

    1. I fought it as long as I could but I totally understand why you don't add it. I think if I post once a week I'll be doing good.

  7. What a relief that Booker T is done with surgery and recovering. Glad that's over, right? For once in my life I'm actually reading faster than I can write reviews, so I have three I need to work on this weekend. And I need to figure out what to start reading next, which is hard because I have so many September review books!

  8. So glad to hear that Booker T is doing so well after his surgery. Dogs are just so precious. One of my sister's labs died at home yesterday so my pups are getting a whole lot of extra loving this weekend. Have a great weekend!
