TTT - 10 Books to Read If You Are In the Mood for Creepy

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading. This week's topic is 10 books to read if you are in the mood for ------------?  So I am choosing creepy reads.

The Twisted Thread - Charlotte Bacon

Graveminder - Melissa Marr

The Countess - Rebecca Johns

The Circle (The Engelsfor Trilogy #1) - Mats Strandberg/Sara Elfgren

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn

The Ice Twins - S.K. Tremayne

Sister - Rosamund Lupton

There are all books which I have read in the past 5 years which for some reason or another, creeped my out somehow.  I don't scare easily, and they really aren't horror novels, they just contain that "ewww" factor in some manner.  If any look appealing, I have linked the pics to the goodreads descriptions.

What made your list this week?

  1. The only one I've heard of is Gone Girl but I'll have to keep these in mind when I'm in the mood for something creepy I love these types of books around Halloween!

  2. The cover for graveminder creeps me out so much! I read the summary for Ice Twins and yeah creepy too! Sister sounds so good though -- does creepy mean horror in this case? Bc *shudders* I can'tdo horror!

    1. Not really. The only ones I would consider really horror or at least on the border are The Thirteenth Sacrifice and The Circle. Some of the others have paranormal elements, but not bloody, slasher horror or anything similar.

  3. Okay, so I haven't read any of those and need to check them out...lol. :)

    1. Since we read some of the same books, I figured you would have read at least one from this list. I really recommend Sister and The Ice Twins.

  4. Creepy Books! AAAAH! I've only read Gone Girl from this pile, but I will most DEFINITELY check the rest out!

I would tell you to read The Dead House by Dawn Kuragitch. It's a SUPER creepy book, and really chilling too.

    Have a lovey day!

  11. Some good ones here. I've enjoyed THE ICE TWINS and SISTER. I also read GONE GIRL, but I was not as big a fan of that one as many were. Have you read Rosamund Lupton's second book, AFTERWARDS? It was very good.
