January Musts and Mights

So I've decided to slightly revamp my monthly TBRs in 2017.  I always tend to have huge TBRs because I simply want to read many more books than is physically possible.  So now I'm dividing it up into two sections - MUSTS, which are books I need to read for blog tours, tag team reads, guest posts, reading groups, etc., and MIGHTS, all the others I hope to get to.  Not only do I think it's a pretty catchy title phrase, I also hope it helps me prioritize.

MUSTS

MIGHTS

As you can see, there are a lot of good looking books on this list so let's keep our fingers crossed that I get a lot of them read.  Hopefully this new system will also help me be more organized in 2017!

Are you reading any of these in January?  Let me know what ones you recommend.

    1. I have actually already finished it. It was my first 2017 read. I LOVED it and my review will go up here next week even though it's already on Goodreads.

  5. Great idea! I've read three of your "Mights" - The Dead Seekers, Certain Dark Things, and I hope you'll get a chance to check out The Bear and the Nightingale because it was lovely. Little Heaven, Frost Blood, and Nemesis are on my list too.

    1. The Bear and the Nightingale is definitely high priority among the mights. I'm about 10% into Little Heaven but I've already finished Certain Dark Things and OMG I can't rave about it enough. My review will go up next week.

    1. Greg, I think you will like Certain Dark Things too. I devoured it in 2 days. Look for my review next week or else look for me on Goodreads if you want to hear me rave about it sooner!

  7. Catchy phrases, definitely the #1 priority of blogging ;-) I like how all the musts are reddish. I'm glad you're reading Corner Store Witch! I want to see what you think of that one.

    1. Yeah, I'm hoping I love it. I miss urban fantasy so hopefully that will kick start some reads in that genre in 2017.

  8. Yes, catchy title and good idea. I've been working on my first series catchup post of the year and I've got it divided in a similar way-priority, for those I must catch up with, and those I hope to read if time allows! None of your picks are on my list but I'll be interested in your progress!

    1. That's awesome. I had it out from the library a few months ago and never got to it before I had to return it. I happened to see it for Kindle for 3.99 over the holidays one day so I grabbed it. Thanks so much for the compliment!

  10. This sounds so much like me. I always think that I can do more than I really can. Hopefully you can get to all of your musts and most of your mights.

  11. I've finally got my hands on a copy of certain dark things -- I am maybe placing too much hope on it rejuvenating the vampire genre for me, but here's hoping! And wait, Seanan McGurie has another one out? I just found out she's releasing a novella next week!

    1. I hope you love Certain Dark Things. They definitely are a grittier vampire which I tend to love. Also Dusk or Dark or Dawn or Day does come out this week and I've already read it and I think reviewed it in November. It was a great read and I gave it 5/5. I definitely recommend it!

  12. I always add more than I can ever read to my list. This is a great idea. I need to figure out something to pare down my tbr pile. Maybe I'll have you guys vote on them for me once I catch up with review commitments.
