TTT - 10 Books I Intended to Read Before Halloween

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

For a lover of horror, Halloween is almost as good as Christmas (and in some cases, better).  So I feel it's only natural that I planned on reading a lot more horror books than I actually did.  That's not to say I'm not happy with what I read, but don't we bookworms always need more time!

So here are some books I really intended to read this Halloween season, but which didn't quite make it.

Of course I still plan on pushing The Rules of Magic and Truants to November and I vow to get to Hollywood Homicide before 2017 is through (because yes, I'm as sick of seeing it here on the blog as you must be).

  1. I have to give a shout out for Rules of Magic - I loved it so much - although I would just say it's not a scary story at all. Very 'feely'.

  3. Loved The Rules of Magic, although I wouldn't categorize it as "scary". Hexed is supposed to be super scary, though!

    1. I remember ordering Hex from Book Depository when it first came out because I couldn't get it in the US. You would think with all that work I would have read it by now.

  5. I only managed one horror book this month and that was a re-read of The Rats! I'm disappointed in myself but I did read a Game of Thrones novel so that is KIND of horror...umm..

    1. While it may not fit the horror genre, it's definitely scary so I think it fits.

  6. I haven't read any of those! I see a few I want to add to my TBR list though. Halloween is my favorite too and the horror/thriller/suspense genre is what I enjoy the most. Happy Halloween!!

    1. I like making lists better than I do sticking to them. I try though which I suppose is the best I can do.

  9. I can relate to not having read everything I hoped to for the season. And now I feel like I have to jump right into the Christmas reads without finishing what I wanted for the Halloween. Self-pressure, I know, but it's real.

Rules of Magic is on my wish list. I am really looking forward to reading it. Hex and House of Ash sound really good as well! I hope you get to these when you are able!

    Have a great day!
